Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Review, Photos, Swatches
Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured
Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured ($38.00 for 0.19 oz.) is described as a “golden opal pearl.” It’s a medium, champagne gold with warm undertones and a shimmery, luminous sheen. NARS Jubilation (Left) (P) is yellower. NARS Frenzy (Left) (P) is lighter. Too Faced Snow Bunny (P) is slightly darker. Becca Opal (P, $38.00) is a smidgen lighter. Dior Transatlantique (LE, $58.00) is similar. MAC Whisper of Gilt (LE, $30.00) is a smidgen lighter. Chanel Mouche de Beaute Illuminating Powder (LE, $80.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
This shade had semi-opaque coverage that was buildable to fuller coverage if desired, but it could also be sheered out (or applied more sparingly) for a warm, luminous sheen. The fairer your skin tone is, the more of the underlying color will be apparent. On my medium skin tone, it gives a very slight warmth to wherever I apply it, but it is primarily a luminous sheen that’s not too dewy or too metallic. It highlights without emphasizing pores or the skin’s natural texture. The consistency is creamy but thinner without too much slip, so it doesn’t have any tackiness to it, which helps it apply better over base products as well as performing well on bare skin. This wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Oh this sounds great. I need to try it as it sounds perfect for my new spring make up routine and my oily face! 😉
Awesome! 🙂
Opal is my favorite in both liquid and pressed form so no surprise, I am liking this one too! I can’t wait to check it out in person.
YAY! 🙂
I received this one yesterday. I was a bit shocked at the pan color. But, happy that it sheered out. It still is a bit warmer than the liquid and the powder I think. I find Opal and Moonstone to be my favorite shades in the Becca luminizer lines as far as suiting my skin tone. Although, I do like the others as well. Can’t wait to wear this one! Glad it performed well!
Yep! All of the pans are quite a few shades darker than they really are once you touch it with a brush.
The color in the pan looks like a bronzer but the swatch is so sheer. Could this be a bronzer for very fair skin? Or would I have to pack on the color?
They all swatch lighter than they look in the pans – I don’t think it’s a bronzer!
Looks great on you! Natural but luminous.
Exactly!
These are so beautiful! You look very pretty 🙂
For a normal ro dry skin, which version of shimmering skin perfector do you recommend? And for NC30skin which color suits Christine?
Thank you, Divya!
Very pretty. I’m glad these aren’t a fail.
Phew 😀
I’d love to see how this looks on someone with reaaally deep skin! it’d be gorgeous.
Me too!
I’ll have to check this out! I’ve wanted MAC’s Whisper of Gilt forever & a day — finally a dupe I can easily get my hands on. 🙂
Yayyy!
Did you manage to order Rose Gold? Am *patiently* waiting for your review on it! Not sure if I should just bite the bullet. Ah the risky choices of a make up junkie! Thanks for the review Christine x
One day I’ll get it. UPS managed to route it to the wrong place, so it’s delayed. Nothing I can do. I’m really sorry 🙁 I contemplated ordering another one, but with the weekend, it won’t get here any sooner.
Oh, that’s pretty on you.
Thank you, El!
How do you think this would fair or skin tones darker than medium. You didn’t really mention them and I can’t tell if it would show up.
It’s not going to give you a lot of color, but it will highlight the skin 🙂
This turned out lighter than I expected but it still looks beautiful. Becca is really doing a great job with these!
They did!
This is one of the most beautiful shades out of the three. Poured looks like a natural in the middle-of-the-summer tan with a slight sheen. I would love to rock it this summer!
You’d be gorgeous in it!
Which formula – liquid, powder, cream, is your favorite and why? Will you be doing a comparison swatching of the three formulations per color?
Thank you!
Hi Connie,
I already did a comparison! Please see this post: http://www.temptalia.com/becca-shimmering-skin-perfectors-comparisons-swatches-application-tips
Hope that helps!
