bareMinerals Afternoon Delights Eyeliner Set

bareMinerals Afternoon Delights Eyeliner Set ($29.00 for 0.06 oz.) includes five shades of the brand’s Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eye Liner. It’s a very disappointing formula, and I don’t recommend the formula, period, or this set, due to poor color payoff that is paired with a stiffer, drier formula. The wear is average, which is “good news” compared to all the other characteristics one tends to look for in a go-to eyeliner. I can’t believe they discontinued their Round the Clock formula for this, as these are some of the worst eyeliners I’ve tried in recent memory.

Immortal Emerald is a muted, forest green with a pearly finish. Sheer color payoff that’s not even buildable, due to the very stiff, dry texture. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Eternal Bronze is a medium-dark, warm-toned brown with subtle gold sparkle over a satin finish. It was hard to apply, as the consistency was so dry, and the resulting color payoff was semi-opaque after many layers–at best. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Timeless Taupe is a warm-toned, taupe brown with a pearly shimmer-sheen finish. This was the creamiest of the three pencils, though it was still stiff and dragged a lot on the lash line. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Stay Golden is a brightened, yellow gold with a frosted finish. It was sheer, dry, and painful to use on the lash line due how stiff it was.
See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Perpetual Plum is a muted, plummy-brown with gold shimmer over a satiny finish. It had semi-sheer color payoff in one stroke, but it wasn’t buildable as the consistency was just too dry. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Wow.. I’m not sure whether I’m laughing or crying! I hope you did NOT try to apply any of these TP your eye! Oh my gosh! Love some “F’s” though! Haha! ( Yes, MUFE thingy was an A! 🙂 you’re adorable!) 🙂

I have tried their regular pencil liners and jumbo pencils. These are a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY! They look way too painful to work with! I am so sorry you had to test them out!

Ouch!
When a set has a D- it’s BAD!
I wonder how a brand like BM can even produce liners as bad as these. The worst thing I can think of when it comes to makeuup is liners like these that drag at the delicate skin around the eyes.
You are brave to even try using them around the eye area.
I’m glad you didn’t have to buy the set at least 🙂

I wish I knew – most eyeliners are easier to apply to the arm, as you can take way more pressure there than the eye, but these weren’t pleasant to even swatch!

I’m wondering what kind of quality control Bare Minerals has, to send a product with quality as poor as this! They really need to step it up. Such a shock, especially since their Ready eyeshadows are some of my favorite.

I got my set yesterday :(. I found them to be dreadful, just as you describe. Unfortunately in the UK we can’t return either. Lol at the fact that I was offered these ahead of release, as a favoured customer! Love the Round the Clock liners, and hoping to find some more of those before they disappear completely.

This is so, so sad for BareMinerals – I love these colours, but the swatches look horrible in terms of ease of use. Other beauty blogs I have read about them agree with you – they are terrible to use. Don’t they test these pencils before releasing them for sale?

How is this entire collection so bad! Why would they even bother selling this.. I wonder how it made it to the store, plus with that price tag.

Funnily enough, this annoys me even more than the other set – mostly because I feel like that emerald liner in particular could have been really awesome!

Oh MY that is BAD. And I had to laugh a bit at the review because it’s the worst one I think I have read, that you’ve given to a product and I was imagining you writing it. You are always manage to sound positive somehow but this one – nope. Reads: ‘These are just BAD!’ LMAO!!!!

When things have no hope, I try to get that across, lol! Sometimes products get Bs and Cs because of big claims or ultimately, they just can’t hack it without primer, but since I know that many do use primer on the regular, then I recognize it may still work well enough for some 🙂

It’s really, really hard to tell, based on how terribly it swatched, but Perpetual Plum reminds me a bit of the d/c UD eyeliner 1999.

In this day and age, how does a competitive makeup brand utterly fail at ALL their new line of eyeliner? They’re making the Kat Von D lipsticks look a little better, because some of those were okay!

This is crazy. Compared to the quality of all these other brands out. You would think that a “makeup company” would test the product out before launching it. This just leads me to believe they just want to rob you for your money! Sorry you had to waste you money 🙁
