You know when I first saw this I thought it would be way too bright for me but your swatches show some pretty solid neutral mattes. I may have to consider.
This is so pretty but I already have all these colors! Ahhh…so tempting!
Riviera 2.0? But more matte?
Or at least that’s my initial take on this. That’s problem #1.
Also, while I totally appreciate how difficult it is to formulate a matte purple or rich cobalt blue, these just aren’t looking too hot in their initial swatches. Hopefully, they do work way better on the lid than what I’m seeing above, because that has me worried. Problem #2.
Unicorn Tribe in pan looked very interesting to me, but far less so in actual swatches. I’m taking a pass on this palette. I’m not seeing anything I cannot mostly dupe and there has been a myriad of bright palettes on offering this year. The purple and fuchsia values are very similar with just a switch in finish which I think is limiting. It’s been easy to say no to so much lately and I guess that is a great reflection on the products I already hold and enjoy.
Sephora had it in stock around 5 AM mountain time, I got an email saying “For you Rouge” or something like that so of course I ordered mine, sight unseen.
The swatches do look really good and the early reviews are good as well. I have a feeling I won’t regret getting this pretty baby.
I’m debating on this one. When it was first shown, I was all “yes, I’m getting it!!” I collect eyeshadow pallettes, but them I kinda start to realize these colors are in almost every other pallette out right now. I have the norvina, more cool toned and also the Rivera pallette….there are way to many browns in here, and it’s just kinda meh. They could have done some really fun textures, glitters etc. Its like people went through and picked out their favorite colors, slapped them in a pallette, put a couple names on it and now marketing it. I wish it would have been something different….maybe put some greens and oranges and mix of mattes and shimmer, glitter etc. I mean, this pallette HAS to be easily dupped
P.s. what is that foam type drink that is always in photos?!?! It always looks so interesting and like I want to try it!!! P.s. where can i buy one from, so I can try it out?! I’m not much of a cook or a drink maker lol.
Thanks and hope everyone is having a fantastic day!!
It’s a latte – coffee with a lot of foamy milk – I make it at home 🙂
I only one I really, really love is Beyond and I don’t have any dupes that come close to how beautiful it is. Not a reason to buy the whole palette unfortunately.
Wow – these are bright and I think Beast looks very out of sync with the rest of the palette.
Many palettes contain a black shadow. It’s nice to have to add depth or darken. Just like having the white is nice for lightening or making other colors appear brighter. Alyssa’s Texas Beauty Pageant looks probably all use black shadow in some way.
This almost looks like it was designed to go with Riviera. I like the shade selection, but Believe and Dream It look a bit rough in the swatches. I’ll wait for the review.
The swatches look pretty good to me. Excited to get this palette when it launches in Sephora Philippines
It’s pretty, but it doesn’t look as vibrant as it does in the pan, overall. I think the bright packaging influences that. Sometimes I wish that brands would go with a standard black packaging, at least around the pans so that we can see it more true-to-color. Because color around and next to other colors can influence what colors look like themselves.
That’s a good point about the packaging. I love bright colors, but you’re right: They don’t make the best backgrounds for judging the cosmetics’ colors.
“Back Rolls”?
Okay, I was honestly questioning the name, but now that I Google it, apparently there was a whole meme involving this phrase. I didn’t know who Alyssa Edwards was until 1 minute ago, and had never seen the show, so I genuinely didn’t understand that this was an in-joke. Forgive my ignorance everybody!
