Enchanted

Anastasia Enchanted Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep, violet purple with cooler undertones and a frosted finish. The consistency was rather dense, almost thick compared to most of the brand’s formulas (including other frost/metallic shades) but is incredibly pigmented. I would recommend using a flat synthetic brush or medium dome-shaped eyeshadow brush (I used MAC’s 239 just fine with this). If you’re familiar with the more recent silicone-heavy eyeshadows that have released lately, you’ll enjoy the formula as it has that same creamy, smooth feel. The eyeshadow adhered beautifully to bare skin, still blended out, and stayed on for nine hours on me.

The new single eyeshadows will be available at online retailers on June 13th and in stores on June 23rd but are available through Anastasia now.

Anastasia Eyeshadow is supposed to be a “finely-milled, highly-pigmented” powder eyeshadow. There are several different finishes, and the performance can be better or worse depending on the finish, though it also ranges from shade to shade. On average, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque, lightly dusty to buttery, wears seven to nine hours, and is fairly blendable. The Metallic and Titanium finishes seem to be the best-performing to me, but there are some really standout mattes and shimmers as well. I have not tried the sparkle, satin, or velvet finishes as extensively as the other finishes, personally.

Venice

Anastasia Venice Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, bluish aqua with a greenish-gold shift paired with a metallic finish. It had a very creamy, smooth texture in the pan, which applied best with a patting it onto the lid rather than sweeping, but the edges still diffused without issue with a fluffy brush–it was just not the type of texture that would work for someone who might prefer building up coverage. It had nearly opaque color payoff that lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

Tiger's Eye

Anastasia Tiger’s Eye Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark gold with greenish tones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was buildable to opaque coverage with two to three layers or used over a primer. The consistency was denser, cream-like but firm enough that I needed to push my brush into the pan to get product onto my brush. Once on the lid, though, it was not stiff or difficult to blend out, so in practice, it was easier to use than one might have expected given the texture. The color started to crease on me after eight and a half hours of wear.

Golden Copper

Anastasia Golden Copper Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, medium coppery brown with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin but was best applied by pressing and pulling rather than sweeping. The texture was finely-milled and blendable on the lid, but the press was not quite as firm and there was some fallout during application from the sparkle particles in it. Once applied, the eyeshadow stayed in place well, lasted eight and a half hours, and did not have further fallout.

Sunset

Anastasia Sunset Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark copper with warm, reddish-brown undertones and a metallic sheen. The consistency was one of the smoothest, silkiest, and creamiest that I have ever tried; it was so soft that it felt almost wet to the touch. The pigmentation was intense–a little went a very, very long way–and it applied just as intensely to bare skin with no need for a primer at all. It wore well for nine hours on me before fading.

Rose Gold

Anastasia Rose Gold Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was fully opaque, while the eyeshadow was smooth, blendable, and easy to work with. It was slightly denser than expected, but there was absolutely no fallout and it adhered exceptionally well to bare skin. This shade wore well for nine hours on me.

I have dupes for Sunset and Golden Copper, so money saved there. But I have none for Rose Gold, so on my list it goes. It’s great to see these are reviewing well, and that they’re permanent.

That eye look you did, though! ?

Okay, so THIS is how that Tarte Mermaid/ Unicorn/ whatever palette ought to have applied. Smooth, saturated with pigmentation, dense creamy formula. But it didn’t. That’s quite alright, because there are THESE! Enchanted, Venice and Sunset all just went on my WL. Possibly, even Tiger Eye, although I’ve got UD Blitzed and CP Telepathy, Nars Kauai duo has a good cool gold, too.

My top picks are Venice, Love Letter, Realgar and Buon Fresco. Although, narrowing it down was harder than I thought it would be. Maybe it’ll have to be an 8 pan, then! Haha 🙂

Britta Daczyk Avatar

Holy WOW. I was secretly hoping they’d botched the formula so I wouldn’t have to buy all of them. Enchanted, Venice and Sunset are especially GOREGOUS!

Allie Avatar

Can you tell if Vermeer is the same formula as it is in Modern Renaissance? Thats probably my favorite eyeshadow shade ever and I would love it in a single!

Love the way you put the colors together!!!!! I have to try the way you combine the colors. I noticed I rarely or never see you with black cat eye. I love this sitev
