About this Look

For date night, I wanted to do something for myself, so after I finished testing the day’s products, I took everything off and redid my makeup just for the evening.  I really enjoyed Anastasia’s summer eyeshadow singles, so I revisited those and tried to put together a combination I would normally think of immediately.  My husband even complimented me during dinner about how pretty my makeup looked (which, given that he sees me in various states of makeup testing, he does not usually remark one way or the other!).

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Inner lid:  Tiger's Eye
  • Middle of lid: Venice
  • Outer lid: Sunset
  • Crease:  Rose Gold
  • Deep crease: Realgar
  • Above crease:  Golden Ochre
  • Brow bone: Vermeer
  • Lower lashline: Brown(ie), Tiger's Eye, Venice, Rose Gold
  • Cheeks:  Lyra over Flesh & Fantasy
  • Lips:  Tan Lines over Naked Truth

Christine, you look radiant! When I first looked at your photo I said to myself “what’s changed in Christine’s look today”? I call it the “je ne sais quoi” factor that wows one (some French expressions come easier to me –sorry, French Canadian here). Everything that you put on goes so well together. And it’s not just an item in particular. It’s like every shade/colour in your makeup is reflected in your outfit (top/ dress) and in the jewelry. Everything is combined in such a harmonious ensemble. Perhaps this is what your husband noticed as well :).

Aww, thank you, Nicole! 🙂 I definitely wanted to have some matchy-matchy thing going on but more with teal/aqua as an accent.

LOL, it could possibly be that since I chose everything specifically that things paired better than is typical since I usually pick from what I’m testing/swatching. Haha!
