I’m in the love with the packaging but these just aren’t my colors, which is probably for the best.
If this has been an elevated version of UD’s Beached I would’ve been all over it even though that color story has made the rounds.
I love that ABH is listening to requests for a colorful palette! I do wish that there were some deeper colorful mattes included, but I’m definitely going to be picking this up.
I’m just imagining how dirty that outside is going to get. That’s just one reason I don’t think this is for me. I think I’m too boring for those metallics and I have those mattes 100 times over.
Try MOD PODGE! I have used it on my NARS blush and eyeshadow packaging and works well. I will try this also on a corner of my Modern Renaissance palette.
Mod Podge? The original? Isn’t that a glue?
Mod podge is typically used as a sealant too!
Mod Podge can be used as both a glue and a finish. This means that you can paint it over the plastic case/ container to make it glossy. I first tried this over my NARS blush that was already sticky and grimmy. You can find Mod Podge in different finishes, satin or matte. You can find Mod Podge in different finishes, satin or matte and I think also waterproof. hope that helps.
Wow! I’m thrilled to see something different. It does not look like my kind of palette for creating multiple looks; rather, a slew of fun shades to work with other palettes. Omg.. Mediterranean! I also like Yacht and seaside and cannes. Bauhaus looks kick a$$. I’m certain I am going to want this…badly…
As a few others have said, these aren’t my kind of colours either and looking at the IG photo, I’m guessing there is a LOT of loose powder floating around. But this still looks so nice and bright and summery and with the kind of winter we’ve had, it is nice to see.
This could be one very interesting palette! Cannot wait to see how it performs in real life usage!
I usually I get very excited about any ABH eyeshadow palette, as I love their formula. I like a lot that this is different that the other palettes. The colours are vibrant and I love the theme. I’m not so sure though about the inclusion of Cannes and Palm, which seem too dark and a bit disconnected from the Riviera theme. I get that they can be used as a highliner, but I wouldn’t use them for that, at least not during the summer. I would have put a Turquoise eyeshadow instead of Cannes and a beautiful Aquamarine instead of Palm. Bahamas is very pigmented but I love it. It can be sheered out and with a shimmer on top (Palermo above), it’s a bomb. Personally love the striped nautical packaging. Strong chances to get this palette.
Maybe I’m just feeling cranky because I just baaaaarely missed the heavily discounted sale on ABH Sultry palette, but this doesn’t appeal to me at all. Just not my kind of combination, especially for a larger palette. Easy pass.
Exactly! On first glance I didn’t see any looks. And there are fourteen shades!
Love the color story but easily have these colors in my collection already
That’s where I’m at, too – I think there’s one or two that I don’t have, but it’s because I don’t really care for it. It’s a shame because I love that ABH is putting out some color again.
I am surprisingly here for this palette. Depending on the reviews because I will not pay for low quality shadows…
This looks very pretty! I’m sure I’ll be picking it up.
I love the bright colors, and I’m into the nautical packaging. Very nice!
These colors are very pretty. I love this color scheme a lot. However, I feel like I’ve got these colors in my collection in spades – although scattered in a few different palettes – and find that my one ABH palette (prism) too powdery to want to work with so not sure if I’ll pick this up or not. Pigmented? Yes most are very pigmented… but also a smidge hard for my skillset to work with. It isn’t a hard pass on this palette, but a maybe pending what others think. If the consensus is that these are easy to work with and more on the buttery side then I’ll likely be tempted to have all these colors in one palette, but if it does have medium to heavy kickback then I won’t be tempted at all. Seychelles is definitely the color name of the moment!
It’s basically a condensed version of the BH cosmetics Weekend Festival palette. it’s pretty but I’m not buying it for that reason. I don’t really like ABH’s thick wet/dimethicone heavy shimmers (I preferred the ones in the Mario and MR palette) so it’s an easy pass for me since I have the color story already in that BH palette.
Gorgeous colors and love nautical designs. I’ll wait for reviews then make a decision.
I made it through the Sultry sale without giving in to buying it, and I’m happy to say that there’s nothing at all about this new palette that appeals to me, so my wallet is still safe. I am very curious to see what Christine does with it, though. It’s an interesting combination.
I will probably be skipping this. I have these colors already and I barely reach for them. It’s a pretty palette and it’s nice that they are listening to their customers, but I do not need this.
It’ll be discounted in a couple months. I can wait until then to cop it.
I don’t do “brights” very often, and I’m not a huge fan of “Nautical” anything, but I do want this palette… I was on the fence about the MAC Art Library palette, but I think I’ll pass on that one, and pick up this one, instead…
I skipped Subculture, Soft Glam, Norvina and Sultry but THIS LOOKS GORGEOUS!
Although I generally like ABH shadows, I have these shades a million times over so I don’t think I will be picking this up. I think it is interesting that the promo pick for the ad campaign shows so much powder on the inside of the palette. We all know that ABH shadows are powdery but I am surprised they didn’t either choose a new one or wipe the inside of the palette to lesson the little sprinkles that are showing up on camera.
Still waiting for my mostly green palette, ABH, LOL!!
Silly me, I just realized that the picture is from IG and not part of the ad campaign. Still think they should have dusted off the dusty shadows but it is forgivable!!
Oh wow that Mediterranean shade looks stunning in the sun! Not for me, but I do like the colorful metallics!
Really pretty color story here!
This palette is so beautiful! If it gets a good review, I’m picking it up!
This looks like a condensed version of The Pink Flamingo palette Violet Voss released last summer. Since I own that one, this is an easy pass.
Beautiful colors, but as everyone else says I can dupe these colors in my collection and I’m still on my low/no-buy.
Love the packaging, but really not my kind of palette. I’m glad there is something different for everyone who’s been bored for so long by the neutral palettes.
This palette looks amazing, but the shade colours are really not for me. But I do think it is lovely.
Its an interesting palette, but its one of these palettes in which the shimmery shades stand for its own. I can hardly see combinations, but one shimmery shade in combination with these mattes makes it perfect.
This colour scheme looks more like Carousel than Riviera but it definitely looks nice! I would have expected more seaside colours, though — the UD Beached palette someone mentioned would definitely not have been my first comparison.
I love this. I can see wearing these colors with a tan! It’s coming home with me soon.
On a pickier note, why is there a shade called Bahamas in a Riviera palette?
So bummed this doesnt have a matte blue 🙁 would’ve been perfect!
I’m a diehard ABH palette fan, but I can’t say I’m excited about Riviera. This color scheme just doesn’t speak to me. It’s probably for the best. I have enough ABH palettes to last me for a while. But I’m looking forward to seeing the different looks others come up with!
Do you know if the palette is going to be limited edition?
I haven’t seen anything about it being permanent!
I love ABH and I have three of her e/s palettes (Modern Ren, Mario and Sultry), which I’ve been using a lot on a regular basis. After watching several videos of Riviera, I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t be using it often on a day-to-day basis. There are some beautiful and bright shades here, but four or five of them need to be toned down, so I can wear them for an office look and it’s a pity because they are meant to add a pop of color and not to be toned down. For this reason, it’s gonna be a pass for me.
Bought it yesterday and it should be here by Sunday. I’m excited for this launch. I’m all about some color! I’m glad ABH is doing a vibrant colorful palette. Its right up my alley
