Anastasia Radiant Blush Kit Review, Photos, Swatches

Radiant

Anastasia Radiant Blush Kit ($30.00 for 0.68 oz.) is a new, limited edition blush palette with four shades. There was nothing impressive about the formula as it was just too much work to blend out and nothing exceptional with respect to texture, pigmentation, or wear to justify spending three or four times longer blending out the blush, and the whole process is just worse over a base (like foundation) as you’ll have to be particularly careful to avoid lifting and disturbing the base.

Per the brand, it’s a “full pigment formula for buildable coverage,” which I interpret as that it is buildable to full coverage. It is also a “finely milled formula for seamless blending,” which is where I had more trouble typically–these were unforgiving when applied over bare skin or damp foundation. I had to have skin powdered heavily in order to get decent blendability out of most shades in the Blush Kits, though some were decent without extra tricks.

Spoiled

Spoiled is a light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a gold sparkle. The blush had medium, buildable pigmentation with opaque coverage achievable after three layers. The consistency was powdery and prone to applying unevenly to the skin initially and then took some buffing to even out on the skin. It lasted for eight hours on me.

Coastline

Coastline is a medium coral-orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage that was buildable to semi-opaque pigmentation. The consistency was powdery and almost clumpy to the touch, as the powder lifted away from the surface in chunks rather than evenly onto my brush. This one applied more evenly than others, so it was not as much of a challenge to blend out but was still not “seamless” for blending. It wore well for eight hours.

Breeze

Breeze is a soft, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had buildable, semi-opaque pigmentation with a soft, smooth consistency that felt a little chalky to the touch. It applied somewhat unevenly to the skin and took extra effort to blend out, though it was not the worst in the palette. On me, it lasted for eight hours.

Terrace

Terrace is a muted, medium-dark rosy brown with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The consistency was somewhat powdery in the pan, but it applied better to the face compared to the other shades in the palette. It just wasn’t a struggle to blend it out like the rest of the palette, but I noticed it darkened and appeared brighter on my cheeks compared to when I swatched it (where my arm is quite dry). It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage. The color stayed on well for eight hours.

ABH would make an interesting business school case. Starting with core competency and brand recognition in brows, then ….(well, the blushes arenโ€™t worth the time, much less the $. You would think they would do a better job, considering the admiration the glow kits get.) They did the palette that launched a generation of red toned variations, then Subculture. The high pigment, little binder with no advanced warning to consumers created unmatched notoriety, whether you eventually learned to use it or not!! Then thereโ€™s the abh relationship with social media. Lots of great papers/cases to come out of Norvina et Cie.

Only Terrace and Coastline are remotely appealing. Pretty sure I have better quality dupes for both here!
The other 2 shades in the palette are just pitiful. Where’s the  emoji when you need it? LOL.

I was really excited about these palettes! So disappointed in the performance. Trying to see the glass half full and think of it as $60 to spend on a different holiday LE!

They all look beautiful on you, especially Coastline. Thanks for the review, When you give such a lackluster review, you know that they must be really horrible!
