Anastasia Estrella & Freya Lip Glosses Reviews & Swatches
Estella
Anastasia Estella Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a soft, peachy beige base with multi-colored flecks of sparkle and pearl. It’s one of five new glosses that’s designed to be sparkling and for layering (“aren’t created to deposit pigment/color, they deposit dimensional light catching pearls”), so the sheer to semi-sheer coverage was as expected.
While the sparkling effect was lovely with a moderate level of “coverage” via the shimmer and sparkle, the underlying base was rather milky and settled into all of my lip lines. From afar, it didn’t look as bad as the shine and shimmer distracted from the settling, but I was quite surprised–and disappointed–at how badly it sat in my lip lines. The texture was smooth, mostly non-sticky, and comfortable to wear, and I started to feel a bit of the sparkles’ texture in the last hour of wear. It stayed on well for three hours and was lightly hydrating.

Formula Overview
$16.00/0.16 oz. - $100.00 Per Ounce
It is supposed to be “opaque” with “high-shine” that’s “non-drying.” It is one of the more pigmented lipglosses out there that has a smoother, more cushion-y consistency that typically spreads well across the lips. Some shades gather in lip lines, and some shades apply streaky; it seems more common with lighter shades and milkier colors.
The formula is non-sticky initially and develops slight tackiness over time. My experience from wearing the formula is that they are often lightly to moderately hydrating and wear three to five hours. They have a vanilla scent that isn’t too overpowering nor does it linger once applied (I notice it mostly in the tube).

Freya
Anastasia Freya Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a medium yellow with warm undertones and multi-colored sparkle and finer pearl. Again, it’s sort of a one-off of their gloss formula, as it’s specifically designed to be sheer and add lots of shimmer rather than color coverage. It had sheer to semi-sheer pigmentation with a moderate amount of sparkle–enough that it was noticeable and effective but didn’t feel like a coat of metallic lacquer. The gloss was lightweight, smooth, and mostly non-sticky, so it was comfortable and lightly moisturizing over time. The downside was how noticeable the product pulled into every single lip line and just sat there. On me, it lasted for three hours, and in the last hour, I felt some of the texture from the sparkles.

I need another lipgloss like I need a hole in my head, I tell you! But I’ve fallen for Estella. It honestly looks so multidimensional and sparkly that I cannot even see it sunken into your lip lines in the close-up shots either.
Estella is EXACTLY what I have been searching for, in a topper gloss. I’m mesmerized by the one photo of it kn your lip omg!
No, I don’t really like these – too wishy washy shades and the texture looked uncomfortable.
Hey Christine! Will you be reviewing the other 3 shades in the new collection? The online swatches make them all look very similar, so your review and description is very helpful!
Yes, please give me time to test 🙂
I’m glad I didn’t order these when I purchased the Norvina palette! I have Becca Champagne Dream x Bellini, Jouer Skinny Dip and all the Huda dupes which perform better!!
