Anastasia Caramel Eyeshadow
Anastasia Custard Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a meduim, yellowed beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. It is pretty aptly named, actually. The texture was lightly dusty, though blendable, with semi-opaque color payoff. This one faded more quickly than some of the recent shades–after six and a half hours–so I would recommend a primer as a must-have with this shade. Anastasia Golden Ochre (PiP, $12.00) is darker (95% similar). Too Faced Tufted Suede (LE, $16.00) is lighter (90% similar). Laura Mercier Bone (PiP, $23.00) is lighter (85% similar). Anastasia Sand Castle (LE, $12.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Too Faced Chihuahua (LE, $16.00) is darker, brighter, warmer (85% similar). Buxom Gimme Gorgeous (P, $12.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Sydney Grace Haystack (P, $5.25) is darker, brighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Anastasia Caramel Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark, yellowed brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. Anastasia Copper Shimmer Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark orange-copper with warm undertones and a pearly finish. It had great pigmentation, but the texture was drier, which led to some issues when blending out as it would appear a little more uneven and some of the shimmer would result in fall out. The color lasted for eight hours after applied without any more fall out. Too Faced Peanut Brittle (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Urban Decay Starfire (LE, ) is lighter (95% similar). Anastasia Rich Brown Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had decent to good pigmentation with a soft, lightly dusty texture that could have blended more easily (particularly for such a dark shade). I had better luck building it up slowly and blending it out in steps rather than applying with more product and then drying to diffuse. It lasted for eight hours before fading. bareMinerals Boardroom (LE, )(100% similar). Smashbox Java (P, ) is darker, warmer (95% similar). Becca Ombre Nudes #5 (PiP, ) is warmer (95% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Anastasia Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is supPosed to be a “finely-milled, highly-pigmented” powder eyeshadow. The brand has a large range of individual eyeshadows that are available as pan-only (no compact to hold them); if you purchase four, you’ll get a 4-well plastic palette for $40 ($10 per eyeshadow), or purchase eight and get an 8-well cardboard palette for $70 ($8.75 per eyeshadow) (the 8-pan is only available directly from the brand). On average, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque, lightly dusty to buttery, wears seven to nine hours, and is fairly blendable. The Metallic and Titanium finishes seem to be the best-performing to me, but there are some really standout mattes and shimmers as well. I find the more recently released shades to be better-performing compared to Anastasia eyeshadows I tried two or three years ago. The wear varies between six and eight hours with decent to good application over bare skin (no primer).

I have always want to buy a Anastasia eyeshadow but I can never get past the price tag. Looking at the quality and swatches I have now changed my mind. Love this site so much.
They have some shades that are worth it, IMO! 🙂
The price of each eyeshadow is indeed high, but if you can find 8 shades you want, purchase directly off ABH’s site. They sell 8 shadows for $70 ($8.75 each), so that’s definitely the best deal. As far as I know, they don’t offer that deal anywhere else (only 4 for $40 at Sephora, Ulta, etc.).
The color combo reminds me of the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Sweet Peach palettes!
Haha!
Copper Shimmer is the star shade here, very pretty.
Glad you liked it!
These really come together quite nicely in an eye look! Although, for me that’s exactly how I would hope and expect those 4 shades to work. I think the only shade here that I can’t think of a dupe I own for it is Custard. That shade seems a bit more unique.
Thanks so much, Nancy 🙂
These shades are so not for me but I appreciate the textures.
The newer ones seem a lot better!
Copper Shimmer is the most beautiful shade here and I can see how these colours would work together on warm toned complexions. Lovely eye look Christine.
Thanks, Genevieve!
Custard looks very pretty and useful! I have nothing quite like it and I can see it as a good transition shade that’s not too grey or too red and also probably a good blending shade for some skintones
And only $12 for what I think is a must-have!
Woohoo! A good transition shade is always nice to have in the arsenal.
Do you ever think there would be a true mac uninterrupted dupe? Lol
Maybe one day 🙂
Supposedly Makeup Geek’s brand new shade Tiki Hut is a dupe – I don’t own it (yet!) to know for sure.
Really like the intricacy of your lower las line.
Thanks, KJH!
