Formula Overview
$45.00/0.12 oz. - $375.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "ultra-pigmented" with a "matte" finish that is transfer-proof and wears for 16 hours. The majority of the shades were nearly to fully opaque in one layer, while they applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without dragging. I noticed that they had a stiffer exterior for the first swipe (more so than the average lip product) but using them after swatches, they glided across my lips and had a velvety feel but were quite lightweight.
There was a very slight "set" to it as the texture felt a touch tacking when I pressed my lips together, but it didn't lift or move the product around by doing so.
I'd describe the finish as satin or semi-matte, which then will wear down to a more matte finish as they are worn. I could see the formula lasting closer to 16 hours if one did not partake in any meals (maybe one very light, oil-free kind of meal). I felt like as soon as I had one meal, there was significant breakdown of the product. It wasn't an issue with drinking water or my morning latte, though, and it was, in fact, transfer-proof.
For a product that claims to wear for 16 hours, I think that it surviving at least one meal is a perfectly reasonable expectation, but if you go that long between meals, you may find the wear to be longer on average than I did.
It had a powdery, floral scent that was noticeable applied for the first few hours, though I didn't detect any taste.

Is there a full face photo and dupes for shade #300? I’m sure I have similar but this color appears to me. Thanks!
Dupes are listed now, and I’m no longer doing full face photos for lip products!
I miss the full face photos. I found them very helpful.
I do understand that you have reduced the amount of photos though, and your health comes first.
Thank you for understanding, Helene <3
I really want to be able to use my hands in 30 years 🙁
That’s too bad, full face photos are a better indicator of how a shade will work with a look because it gives it context.
Unfortunately, between already having a lot of pain in my right hand, it was becoming a mental block to take full photos for lip products to the point where it was incredibly impactful to my mental health. By removing them, it makes doing lip product photos/swatches about 60% faster and reduces the stress on my hand by even more (since I take more photos than I use).
When I polled readers in our Discord, it was a landslide majority that did not feel they were that useful.
I’m sorry to disappoint you – I just had to make changes to improve my mental well-being while also addressing the daily, chronic pain that is only increasing in my right hand. I’ve never been as low as I had been, and the last month or two is the first time in almost five years where I haven’t loathed taking photos. I just… reached the end and found myself needing to make changes or folding the blog entirely. I hope you can understand.
(I also broke my wrist three weeks ago, so my right hand is doing even more work than usual, and if I hadn’t made these changes already, I don’t know how I’d get what I need to get done at all!)
Take it from one, me, who got a severe depression and anxiety with panic attacks, the mental health is so extremely important. I advise anyone feeling they may have mental issues to take a rest and think through the kind of life they have. I don’t want anyone being where I am. I just wish I had understood and reacted a lot sooner.
So rest your mind and your hand and take really good care. Spending time with Winnie can help a lot, Stubbs, who isn’t a cuddly dog has helped me by just understanding when I feel bad. He then sits in the couch and allow me to cuddle up to him and hug him.
Sorry to make this so much about me. This was meant to be about you resting and mending.
We can easily learn to live without full face photos for lip products. I am happy as long as you want to keep reviewing products as I find you so trustworthy.
So, again take really good care, Christine! <3
Thank you so much, Helene! What you said really follows my own journey. It’s not really a “thing,” but I’m super high-functioning even when depressed/anxious. Right before the pandemic started, I realized I was on the brink of a mental breakdown, and I’m better from there, but it took awhile from there to realize that I was really in perpetual burnout mode, which was having consequences in so many areas of my life.
Winnie has been super grounding, and he gives me something to focus on during the present. He’s a cuddler, which has been really nice when I want to just relax. I love listening to him breathe while he sleeps – it’s almost meditative for me.
Nude Style looks like a beautiful MLBB lip color for me! Might have to check it out next time I get to Sephora.
These are popular pink shades, but they are so expensive too. I think this where the dupe list comes in handy.
