Best Products of the Week | Vol. 348
Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.
What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, almost-black hair with natural gray highlights
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?
• EYES: Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Caramel on lid and crease, UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Mushroom to line upper and lower lash line, CoverGirl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara in Very Black, and a combination of Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil and Precisely My Brow, both in Grey.
• FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Desert Beige, Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, MAC Blot Powder, Hourglass Mood Exposure Blush.
• LIPS: Huda Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in Anniversary
What was the hero product of the week for you? NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow primer because it makes low-pigmented eyeshadows work well and last all day.
Any products you want to use next week? Modern Renaissance palette, which I haven’t used in a very, very long time.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Yesterday’s look using my brand new PML Subversive Mothership!
Eyes: MAC Kid transition, all PML after that, Deep Shade in crease and blown up and out to give dimension, Xtreme Black to define outer V and outer lower lashline (of note, these 2 matte shades applied FAR easier and more like her more recent mattes, so I suspect a possible reformation!), Skinshow Fever tearducts, Night Creature on inner and outer mobile lids, also lower outer lashline slightly overlapping Xtreme Black to create brackets for the halo eye I was doing, Gigabyte on mid lid and inner lower lashline applied with a slightly dampened brush, VR Pink to meld Night Creature with Skinshow Fever. My usual black upper tightliner pencil, winged liner and waterproof mascara.
Cheeks: UD Jawbone (getting harder and harder to pick up product because all I now have is the outer rim edges!), PML Divine Rose blush and Golden Nectar highlighter.
Lips: Nyx Mahogany SLP lipliner smudged inward to create a fade, UD TMI Vice lipstick.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Definitely the new kid on the block; PML Subversive Mothership III palette!
Any products you want to use next week? My brand new PML Subversive Mothership III palette! Next up, using Lazarus with Gigabyte because I’ve been on my swampy, grungy green kick all summer. And, I’d like to try a super smokey blurple look using Blitz Amethyst over a thin layer of XTreme Black with Astral Ghost Orchid on innermost lid layered it Skinshow Fever, too.
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I used rms Beauty Buriti Bronzer (which I’ve tried – unsuccessfully, I think, to add to the Favourite Bronzers Recommendations) in place of blush most days this week. No foundation, Clarins concealer (the one in the squeeze tube that is now discontinued – ha! what else is new?), Marc Jacobs Brav-O eyeshadow all over mobile lid with Natasha Denona Anjo on the outer third and into the crease; Sephora Cappuccino pencil to line and MAC Craving on my lips (honestly, my favourite looks from one week to the next are all pretty much the same). I did use a bit of IT Cosmetics powder foundation stuff as a light dusting of powder and then Iconic London spray to bring a bit of dewiness to my face.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: rms Buriti Bronzer. It’s a bit of a slick and tricky product (and makes a real mess on my mask, but I love how it looks as though I’ve just had the tiniest bit of sun and sea).
Any products you want to use next week?: NARS Narsissist Dual Intensity eyeshadow palette (which I love and have used a fair bit in past) and the Tarte Make Believe in Yourself palette, which I’ve rarely used and which was languishing . I had it put aside and rearranged my palettes a bit, taking some out of the drawer in a spare bedroom where I store “overflow” – I put a few in there and made room for a few I’ve not used for a while).
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Hmmm – I’ve had a few this week but the one where I used the Tisse D’Automne was my favourite – the pinky shade over the top half of my eyelid, the lighter olive green shade in the crease and the warm brown on the lower lid. I used Flower Beauty’s Skin Illusion foundation, Clinique’s Melon Pop and CP’s Foolish lipstick to complete the look. Oh and mascara!
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Flower Beauty’s Skin Ilusion foundation
Any products you want to use next week?: More of my olive tones – Spectacular from BM and The Rebel 2020.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, warm brown hair.
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I think a look I did with the ND Bronze palette. I really love that cream to powder deep plum shade. It’s very unusual with the mustard and bronzes but it works perfectly.

What was the hero product of the week for you?: The Wet n Wild Glass Primer. I used it under my foundation this week and it made base I used look soooo nice.
Any products you want to use next week?: my Adept House of El palette, SG Tiny Marvels, Fantasy Cosmetica Druid palette, and Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette. But that could easily change… my makeup plans change day by day lol
Your skin tone/coloring: light, MAC NC 20
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Kept things simple by just wearing Stila’s Shimmer and Glow in Jezebel. It’s a beautiful rose gold shade. Also wore a coppery blush. MAC Hushed Tone . I buffed out w a pale pink color. Saw this too from a NARS make artist on Tik Tok!
What was the hero product of the week for you?: My Real Technique sponge. I apply foundation/concealer w a brush but I’ve been going over w a damp sponge. Really makes everything look skin like!
Any products you want to use next week?: I’m panning a few lippies. I want to use them more.
