ColourPop All Amethyst 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition purple-themed palette with five more matte eyeshadows and four more shimmery eyeshadows housed in a cardboard compact. One of the shimmer eyeshadows was packed with silicones, which is something I have found results in uneven application, but the remaining shades performed fairly well.

Brilliant is a whitish lavender with strong, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had medium pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin. The texture was smooth, moderately emollient and more silicone-heavy. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Trigonal is a medium, pinky lavender with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The eyeshadow had rich pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin with a smidgen of fallout from the fine sparkle. It had a soft, lightly powdery consistency that was blendable. This shade showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Feb’s Gem is a medium-dark pink with cool undertones and a matte finish. It felt slightly firmer in the pan, so I had to use a heavier hand to pick up product evenly, but I didn’t have issues diffusing the edges in practice. It had full color coverage that wore well for eight hours on me.

Not only do I have better quality purple palettes, but also quite a few super, super similar shades. As a result, I’m going to give this one a pass.
In some of the promo pictures I saw, Thyst or That looked like a gorgeous grungy green and I was quite interested in picking it up. When I saw the swatches it became much less exciting, too bad.
For those who love the amethyst range of shade will be disappointed in this offering because, even to me, it’s a bit ho hum – nothing special or a new take on this shade. And then CP sabotages themselves by making one of the most lovely shades in the palette, Amulet, a complete dud.
Of course, the color that looks the most interesting performs the worst. Purple is my favorite color and I was tempted to buy this, but I don’t want to buy something that’s just okay, especially when I have other purple-themed palettes that perform much better.
I love purple eyeshadow and this would have caught my attention in the past but nothing tops my Viseart Liaison palette for cool toned purples.
