Lisa Eldridge Rose Official, Painterly, Atomic Cherry Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colours Reviews & Swatches
Rose Official
Lisa Eldridge Rose Official Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-sheer to medium, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips.
The texture was lightweight, thinner but not clingy, and had light slip to it. The formula was less forgiving of imperfections on my lips, though this shade wasn’t the least forgiving from the ones I’ve tried, but you’ll want to exfoliate thoroughly prior to wearing it. This shade wore well for three hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.12 oz. - $300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have semi-sheer, somewhat buildable coverage with an "ultra modern, comfortable, and luxurious texture" that "feels smooth, light, and pleasurable on the lips." The pigmentation was semi-sheer and buildable, as described, with semi-opaque coverage achieved after two to three layers of product.
The lipstick had a smooth, waxier, balm-like feel, so it had a thinner consistency and glides on easily. The texture was prone to catching on any imperfections I had on my lips, and I had to ensure my lips were well-exfoliated prior to applying. The waxiness helped prevent some transfer onto glasses, too. It has a lightweight feel, is comfortable to wear, and was lightly hydrating over the four hours they lasted for. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Painterly
Lisa Eldridge Painterly Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and thin (but not clingy), which made it easy to apply in a fluid stroke as it did not tug on my lips.
The product applied evenly with semi-sheer to medium, buildable pigmentation, though it wasn’t the most forgiving texture for lip imperfections (like dryness, flaking, etc.). I always exfoliate my lips prior to swatching lip products, but I had to exfoliate a second time to be particularly thorough or else the formula caught and gathered around imperfections noticeably. This color was slightly more forgiving compared to others in the range, though. It lasted well for three hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Atomic Cherry
Lisa Eldridge Atomic Cherry Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish-coral with subtle, warm undertones and a soft sheen. It was less luminous than I’d consider a true natural finish, but it wasn’t quite matte either.
The texture was very thin (without being clingy), but it was more prone to catching on imperfections so it was imperative to exfoliate lips prior to wearing; this shade was more forgiving than others in the range, though. The pigmentation was semi-sheer to medium and buildable to semi-opaque coverage with two to three passes. It stayed on well for two and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Because of their sheerness I think they may do well under a mask? I may be very wrong about that though. If so, I absolutely love Painterly! It may be in the plum family, but I also detect some warm almost earthy tones to it.
They are better than some since they are pretty satiny!
I’m not much of a sheer lipstick girl. I like all the pigment and then make my own decisions about sheering them out over balm or patting with fingers. If they start off sheer then….eh. These are pretty and I’m happy to see Lisa Eldridge releasing more products, but I’ll be passing. Some of her previous releases are still on my wishlist though!
The sheerness of these lipsticks would be OK under a mask, but personally I prefer a lot more oomph to the colours.
OMG Christine. I’m nervous now because i purchased Rose Official and Painterly based on the pics on the lighter African American skin toned model (I’m lighter than her more yellow undertone MAC NC45). I have Estee Lauder’s Poesie and love it but these both look so similar and not sure how they will show up on me as my lips have a natural brown outline and darker reddish pink in the middle. I usually can tell what will be too light. My biggest concern is they will look like those balmy magic turning pink lipsticks that change based on your chemistry (i e Frong Prince).
Ahh! They definitely don’t seem like the color-change/chemistry lipsticks you mentioned, but they are sheer enough that they don’t look drastically different over my natural lip color either. Hopefully yours work for you, though! Fingers crossed.
