Hummingbird
ColourPop Hummingbird Metallic Colour Stix ($6.00 for 0.023 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark teal with subtle, cool undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage–though it was somewhat patchy and harder to blend out as it was very quick to dry down.
I’d recommend working one eye at a time but also using a fluffy, synthetic brush to diffuse the edges as fingertips seemed to make it dry down faster and were more prone at lifting away product that was initially applied. This shade stayed on decently for seven hours before showing signs of wear.

Formula Overview
$6.00/0.023 oz. - $260.87 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "ultra pigmented" in "one swipe" while being "long wearing" and "water-resistant." There are two finishes: matte and metallic, and the initial release included two shades from each finish, so the overview is based on those four shades, which is not a ton of shades to go off of!
One of the four pencils was drier, stiffer, and was prone to the point snapping off during application. The other three were creamier with the metallic shades being more emollient than the remaining matte shade. The pigmentation varied from shade to shade; it ranged from medium to opaque with some being more buildable than others.
The performance was more consistent with three of the four shades applying comfortably with somewhat even initial layers. They were blendable for five to 10 seconds before they dried down to more budge-proof finish. They didn't feel heavy or clingy on my lids, and while they were creamy, they did not feel slippery as they were drying down so they did not settle into fine lines or creases during the dry down.
I was able to apply them directly from the pencil to my eye area, but I found a brush gave me a more even application and helped me blend out the product without losing some of the coverage compared to application with a fingertip. The shades lasted between six and eight hours before creasing on me.

Isla Vista
ColourPop Isla Vista Metallic Colour Stix ($6.00 for 0.023 oz.) is a light chartreuse with warm, golden undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation but was very emollient, which sometimes pushed around product and left areas of patchiness/lifted product.
I’d recommend applying this with one’s fingertip for an initial lay down of product, allow that layer to dry down, and then top up coverage with a synthetic brush. It wore well for seven hours before creasing visibly.

ColourPop Happy Days Metallic Colour Stix ($6.00 for 0.023 oz.) is a light-medium plum with warmer, almost coppery, undertones and flecks of iridescent blue sparkle throughout. It had medium pigmentation in a single layer, which was somewhat buildable, though I felt like I couldn’t get a truly even, opaque application out of it as the larger sparkles pushed the base around a bit.
The texture was emollient enough not to tug on my skin during application and dried down quickly. It lasted for seven hours before creasing on me.

Charmed Life
ColourPop Charmed Life Metallic Colour Stix ($6.00 for 0.023 oz.) is a light-medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had medium pigmentation in one stroke, which was buildable to nearly full coverage with two to three passes. The texture was slightly drier than others in the range, but it wasn’t stiff to work with and was comfortable enough to use on the lash line as an eyeliner.
It was harder to blend out the edges as it was quick to dry down, which was why brushes seemed to work better as fingertips lifted product away. It stayed on well for seven hours before creasing.

Not as bad as UD’s (but then nothing could have been worse than those!), but still not great. A shame, because some of the shades were more on the unique side – like Isla Vista.
Oh, wow, these are so much better than UD! 😏 Whatta buncha bad performers. Sheesh. Finally some new sticks and not one in either collection has done better than mediocre.
Hummingbird and Happy Days are such lovely shades, but the quality leaves so much to be desired. Hard pass.
So everybody forgot how to formulate cream eyeshadow sticks?
Isla Vista is such a pretty shade, I’m tempted to buy it just to use as an eyeliner.
Do you think that would work? Having literally lived in Isla Vista and having thousands of memories, plus loving green, I might have to anyway. But bloody )&@ I shamed myself by buying a UD already, Oy.
