YSL Beige Satin (121) Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick ($38.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a light-medium brown with muted, warm undertones and a luminous sheen with faint pearl throughout. It had medium pigmentation in a single stroke, which was as marketed, and covered my lips with an even layer of product.
The texture was balm-like with high slip, so it felt more emollient on, despite being lightweight and thin. There was a very small amount of product that settled into my deeper lip lines that was visible in the close-up photo but not in person. It wore well for three hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

The formula is supposed to be "deeply hydrating" and "melt" onto the lips with a "pop of color" and give long-term hydration. It is described as having "medium coverage" and "irreverent shine." The color coverage was typically medium, as described, though some of the deeper shades were more buildable to semi-opaque coverage.
They're a very, very creamy, emollient formula; they slip-slide as they melt against the lips during application, and it feels luxurious to apply but can be easily over-applied. It's just the type of texture that lends itself to over-application without adding more coverage, so I recommend being mindful in order to ensure you'll get plenty of usage out of each tube. Fortunately, once on, they don't feel thick or overly slippery, so it doesn't feel like the lipstick is constantly moving while worn.
They have a high-shine, almost glossy, finish that often smoothed out my lip lines without settling into them, and the latter made it more impressive due to the amount of color and slip. The wear time varied from shade to shade but typically landed between three and five hours. Some shades leave a faint stain behind--usually the mid-tone and darker hues. The formula has a sweet, mango scent but no discernible taste.

It had medium color payoff that adhered well to my lips, but it was a smidgen streaky and seemed a little more prone to settling into my lip lines compared to other shades–not quite noticeable in person, though.
It had a lightweight, smooth consistency that was balm-like and very emollient, so it wasn’t particularly long-wearing but comfortable to have on. It stayed on nicely for three hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

YSL Nude Transparent (123) Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick ($38.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a light peach with warmer, brownish undertones and a luminous sheen. It had medium color coverage in a single stroke, which was as marketed, and the color applied fairly evenly. For as much slip as the formula had paired with such a light color, it applied well, but it could have been a little more even and slightly less prone to getting into my lip lines.
The consistency was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and more emollient, like a lip balm. It lasted for two hours on me but felt lightly hydrating.

Beige Satin is my pick. However, this one has a bunch of equally good drugstore dupes, so I’m not 100% on it.
I have two sample sizes of these and love the formula, BUT they do melt in the summer heat. So I would not recommend to anyone living in hot, humid climates; the soft, melty formula can’t hold up unless you never take the lipstick outside. It’s a real purse bomb.
These are really pretty day lipsticks to add that bit of shine and finish to your look. I do like the Beige Satin shade the best.
