Here’s a summary of my recent reviews on the newly-released Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Shine Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.06 oz.). I bought and reviewed 12 shades, which are the ones available at most retailers, though there are some additional shades available directly through the brand–I’m not anticipating purchasing them at the moment (have plenty of other lip products to test for now).

The new formula is supposed to have “sheer to medium, buildable” coverage with “glistening shine.” They seem promising, but the amount they contain is quite small; traditional twist-up lipsticks tend to be more 0.10 to 0.14 oz., and while slim-style lipsticks tend to be less, they are usually 0.08 to 0.09 oz.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

There are 2 of these lipsticks that i am loving 901 Born Flirt and 902 Profound. Maybe next month if Bandit does not get sick again!

I was a tad disappointed with these – I just don’t think that they are worth the price for B+ to B- ratings. I guess the brand is creating more sheerer lipsticks because of the mask situation, but the miniscule amount of product you get is not really worth it.

As the others have said, while these are nice, they are just too pricey for a small amount of product and a relatively short wear time. I’d rather spend my loonies and toonies on the Sephora Rouge Lacquer lipsticks which are very similar (and excellent), cost a whole lot less and provide almost twice as much product for less than half the price.
