Urban Decay Naked Honey Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00) is the newest addition to the Naked palette series. It launches September 13th at urbandecay.com and Sephora, and it’ll be available at other retailers, like Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Ulta, on September 26th.

Oh, and also, Urban Decay broke my heart today because the Honey eyeshadow in this palette is not at all like the Honey I know and loved. It’s significantly lighter, brighter, cooler, and has micro-glitter and sparkle in it.

Looking at the photo of the palette this looks lovely but is it just my monitor or do several of the shades, when swatched, look like they are dupes for each other? I think this will be an easy pass for me since many of these shades, I just cannot pull off. I think it would look great on my daughter though so potentially will be a Christmas gift.
Maybe some day UD will get around to doing a Naked Cool tones palette with cool toned, greens, blues, grays and purples. A girl can dream!

Yes! If they can make Naked Heat, which is hideously unflattering on cool toned people, they can make Naked Cool or Frozen or even something with neutral-leaning blues or purples, please! My favorite is still Smoky, and of course that one is discontinued but that wasn’t all cool either.

Genevieve Avatar

Oh Christine, I do see what you mean! It’s like the Emerald Palette from Taranatino years ago without an emerald shade…..
The swatches look good, but there are more than a few orangey leaning shades – darn! I wish UD would understand that not everyone likes orange. Sweet and Swarm look far too similar to me to be in a palette of this size. I thought I would love this, but now I am rethinking it.

I’m in to it. I wouldn’t use the word “excited” (the most recent things to actually excite me have been Melt palettes), but I’m definitely interested in this. Happy to see a turn from the orangey/pinky browns. As it turns out that while yellow and mustard initially worried me, they look great on my skin and this palette might find its way in to my collection during a sale at some point.

Not as hot as I expected, a bit more subdued. I still find myself drawn to cools, blues, cool pinks and some violets though. I began with almost all the UD palettes but stopped w the oranges and cherries.

It’s much nicer than I expected based on early pictures of the palette itself, but it’s nothing special. I do think it will make a nice addition for people who either don’t have most of these shades in general and people who are newer to makeup though. If I was just starting to explore makeup, I’d probably get this.

IDK the promo swatches make the browns look more yellow brown than orange brown, kind of disappointed as there are enough orange browns out there already

Melissa Avatar

I actually really like this! If I was a makeup newbie I’d definitely pick this up! Good range of depths, warm neutrals, with pops of gold to add drama! As it is, I’m covered with all these shades!

The promo photos of this looked more greenish gold, more neutral-toned. In the swatches I’m seeing A LOT of orange. I will have to pass on this one. : (

I have a lot of old Urban palettes like most of the book of shadows and the little ones like ammo and that wooden one but my favorite was always the deluxe palette. To this day when I wear ransom as a one color look with silver eyeliner and silver glitter urban liner under my bottom lashes, I get an insane amount of compliments from women and men. I am assuming that is the honey you are talking about Christine, and it really is a beautiful shade. When they discontinued the deluxe shades, I swear I almost cried. I have even been looking online recently for a backup of the palette because I used up the ransom in my palette and my single is getting low too. Lol. But I definitely feel your pain. ??

Very pretty! But a hard pass for me unless I swatch Queen and Amber and ignore the fact I have dupe somewhere. If I didn’t have ND Gold, which I think has a similar color story, I may be tempted. Gone are the days of FOMO and waiting for months for a restock like the OG. I gave up on UD when they cancelled the original palette…which I actually used up and repurchased 3x. I would only repurchase their Perversion mascara with their primer and the single Space Cowboy.

Cil Avatar

It is truly honey. This time the name is right. It is something I’d like to have, but I still have Naked Heat PTSD. ??

I traveled to a city where there is a Sephora store and I tried Born to Run (no naked heat around to try). The shades were soft and pigmented, contrary to my Naked Heat, which I believe is a dude (my luck).

Sarah Avatar

I’m a little bummed, tbh. Several shades are only barely distinguishable in swatches which means they probably won’t be on the lid. This is a one-dimensional palette. But, unless UD sells a single-pan honey, maybe it’s worth it for the single color…?

Ester Avatar

I think this is really great and beautiful but I know I have these colors already in my collection and I bet most makeup lovers/collectors do too.

Ellen Avatar

Between my Anasthesia and MAC palettes and singles, I probably have a dupe for every shade in the palette. I also think that it is too yellow for a palette, there no diversity in shades to give some variation on the same theme. The least creative of all the Naked palettes. I was hoping there would be a honey lipstick, but seems not.
