MAC Brash & Bold Pigment Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Brash & Bold Pigment ($21.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “bright magenta.” It’s a rich, vibrant fuchsia-shimmered pink-red. MAC Passionate is matte and pinker. MAC Tease with Ease is pinker, less red, and not as vibrant. MAC Bright Fuchsia is darker, less red-toned. Brash & Bold is a repromote, so you might want to check your stash to see if you already own it.

It has a slightly powdery texture when used dry, as it has an almost semi-matte base (like Push the Edge), though I found Brash & Bold to be smoother and better-performing in comparison. When applied damp, it has a brighter shimmer-sheen finish and becomes a bit richer and darker in color. It applied smoothly and evenly, and it was easy to blend out–it does stain, though. I trialed this shade yesterday, and it clung on like grim death for a full nine hours; there was some very faint creasing at that point.

Also, worth noting, despite purchasing this directly from the Year of the Snake collection page, along with Push the Edge, this pigment did not come with the limited edition sleeve design–it was your standard black cardboard box. (You can see the specially-designed sleeves here.)

I think this color would be lovely on my NW45 skin! I have never used pigments but I look forward to picking this up and getting my feet wet..so to speak

Damn, this colour is gorgeous! This is the first time in a while that I actually want an item from a MAC LE and then they decide to not release it in my country… 🙁

Oh well, guess I’ll have a look at the possible dupes.

I’m always hesitant to buy MAC pigments. It’s so much product…I have some that I bought years ago and I’ve barely made a dent in them. Makes me feel like I’ve wasted money. I actually wish they came in smaller containers.
