Electric Pearl

Guerlain Electric Pearl Meteorites Pearls ($65.00 for 0.80 oz.) is a soft, translucent peach with fine copper micro-sparkles and finer, champagne pearl. It’s the newest limited edition release in the Meteorites Pearls range, and this holiday’s edition is supposed to “create a halo of radiance” with a “subtle harmony of gold and copper pearls” that “counter a dull complexion” while the “champagne and white pearls reflect the light.” It is a more sparkly version in Meteorites, so if seeing visible sparkle on your skin is a deal-breaker, you’ll want to give this a miss. I could see if working as a subtle highlighter on cheeks if desired, and when packed on enough, I could get the faintest hint of color on my skin.

As a finishing powder, it added subtle luminosity all-over my face without making me look powdery, and it did not change my skin tone or coloring. I do find the effect is subtle enough that it is more noticeable in person and in harsher light (studio lighting is more forgiving, so the finishing powder doesn’t do as much lifting). The Meteorite Pearls didn’t impact the longevity of my base in either direction. I felt like I saw the light being reflected and some brightening of my overall complexion, but it was a subtle effect as usual.

I noticed that this year’s edition did not include any pouf or foam round on top the pearls, so mine arrived rather dusty. They are floral-scented.

This has visible sparkles to it, and Dim Light doesn’t have any, so I feel like the most visible difference may be a deal-breaker for some! I prefer Dim Light in terms of a finishing powder between the two, though, but I don’t find myself that enamored with the more sparkly Meteorites!

Every time you review a meteorite pearl release I want to try it so bad but I just haven’t been able to make myself do it yet. While I think this is very pretty again, I don’t like this as much as others in the series, so maybe next time. ?

So, already picked this up. I mean, it is a tradition every year I pick up the holiday pearls and the one year I didn’t I regretted it so much I paid an exorbitant amount for it on E-bay. Never making that mistake again, LOL. I know that there are better finishing powders out there. I know that you don’t get a ton of product as Guerlain has a false bottom in the canister so while it looks like you are getting a ton you really aren’t. However, I have yet to finish a canister with the exception of my everyday meteorites in Claire. I know some people hate the scent but frankly, I love it. It reminds me of my grandmother as violet was her favorite and only scent she used. So, I am looking forward to getting mine. I had talked myself out of it as the more bronze beads made me nervous but worse case scenario I will just use it on my cheekbone like a bronzer or blush topper.

I would love to try this powder! For my naturally tan, with undertones of olive, these more bronze-colored pearls may suit my skin color/tone. The only downside to most of Guerlain’s products is the scent. I cannot deal with their flowery-scented products. But the packaging is beautiful!

I do love most of the Pearls but I’m almost finished with my first and still have another untouched. That said, I like the warmth of this years product.
