Urban Decay Underground Deluxe Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “medium fawn.” It’s a medium-dark gray-tinted brown; it’s rather taupe to me, though not as cool-toned as some taupes can be. The finish has a frosted appearance with a hint of metallic sheen. MAC Caviar Dreams has a similar color but different finish. Benefit Dandy Brandy is much more of a red-toned brown than taupe. Tarina Tarantino Delightful has a warmer base. MAC Magical Mist is a bit lighter. Bare Escentuals A-Ha has a redder undertone. MAC Aloha has a redder undertone and a more metallic finish.
When I tested out the wear of Underground alone, it adhered really nicely to the lid, so I didn’t have any creasing or fading after eight hours, which is impressive for an eyeshadow without a primer! I love the texture of the Deluxe Eyeshadows, because it’s so soft, buttery, and dense. The color payoff is lovely with a smooth, even finish. These eyeshadows are also almost twice as big as the regular ones for just a buck more.
The plastic part of the lid tends to fall off, though, and it’s a problem I’ve had consistently with the Deluxe Eyeshadows, unfortunately. The lid itself consists of the actual lid mechanism and lid, but there’s a clear plastic lid that clicks over that to protect the design (which is printed on paper), and that is the piece that falls off–so your shadow stays intact, but it’s still frustrating.

I love the Urban Decay Deluxe eyeshadows. This one is definitely my favorite. I also have Scratch and Ruthless. The top plastic lid on my Scratch cam off once, but I just pushed it back on and it kind of just snapped back on and I haven’t had a problem with it since. I don’t know if they are all like that or not but it worked for mine.

They definitely snap back on, but they come off all the time for me! Especially if I keep one in a makeup bag (like for traveling).
One of my favorite UD shadows! It’s the perfect medium brown on me. I’m actually really surprised so see how different it looks on you.

Underground is definitely one of my favorite eyeshadows EVER! The formula and color on this is amazing, definitely one of my go-to eyeshadows whether it’s for everyday or glam looks 🙂

I have Underground on my Deluxe palette and I love it 🙂 Sometimes I wear it alone with a fine line of black eyepencil and a couple of nice black mascara coats during daytime. It looks very nice!!!

Am I the only one who can’t wear the UD eye shadows? They are indeed lovely in color and texture, but my eyes get so itchy and uncomfortable, I don’t wear them any more. I found this to be true with the Deluxe ESs and the Naked I palette. Such a shame and waste of money. Sigh!

IDK why but it looks different from the one in my Deluxe palette. it’s one of my favorite shades i’ve already hit pan. Hoping it’s just my computer. Glad I can repurchase this single shade without having to buy the entire palette.
