Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

My skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool

Favorite look you wore: (sorry, had to fix that typo – it always drives me nuts!) – I can’t really think of one that really stood out this week

Most used product of the week: Once again, it’s Dior’s Rosy Glow Awakening Blush

Any new beauty discoveries: Thanks to Christine, the Laura Mercier shadow pencil set. I’m wearing Amethyst today, as a “one and done” (I’m cooking, baking and prepping, so no time to faff around). What a wonderful set of crayon shadows!

Skin tone: Medium Warm (MAC NC37, UD Naked 5.0, Teint Idole Bisque 370)

Favorite look: I did three looks I really loved this week! If I had to pick a favorite, I guess it would be the plum look I did with NARS Lunar Hardwired shadow all over lid, Kat Von D Silk for transition and Ribbon in the outer V (both from the MetalMatte palette), UD’s Bittersweet on cheeks, and Bite Beauty Barberry on lips. (I posted a pic of this on Free Haul Friday).

My second favorite look will be posted tomorrow (Sunday) on the blog. It was a lovely orange and silver look using the Colourpop Yes Please Palette and Bikini from Jouer’s Skinny Dip palette. The camera really couldn’t do it justice, but I tried anyway.

Most used product: Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation in 5.0, Lorac Porefection face powder pressed into my skin with a dry black Beauty Blender (I believe they call it the Pro), and Guerlain Meteorites Perles D’Etoile as a finishing powder (I use this everyday, it is my favorite of the Meteorites that I’ve purchased).

My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation N360, deep brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.

Favorite look you worn: On Thursday, I wore the yellow, red and orangey shades from CP Yes, Please palette with Fenty Chili Mango and Metal Moon on my cheeks and MAC Nicki’s Nude (lined underneath with Nyx Ever Slim Lip Pencil) with their Mariah Carey Butterfly Bling Lipglass from this past winter (anyone else see the hilarious irony in that pairing?!??) Very cheery late summer going into autumn look that I really enjoyed wearing!

Most used product of the week: Fenty Chili Mango Matchstix, Metal Moon Highlighter and again this week, MAC Nicki’s Nude. Also, MAC Retro lipstick has been put back into rotation and worn twice this week. It’s an old favorite of mine for fall.

Any new beauty discoveries: That finally, a true cream blush stayed put on my cheeks for once! Now I need Ridiiic, too!

My skin tone/coloring:
Light neutral, MAC NC20

Favorite look:
Eyes: Kat Von D Shade & Light palette’s Samael in crease, and Succubus on outer lid and outer crease blended toward the middle. ABH Modern Renaissance’s Vermeer in inner-to-middle lid. Lips: Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow ‘n’ Arrow.

Most used product of the week:
Other than my beloved Clinique Brow Shaper, which I have used every day for the past 10+ years, my most used product of the week was Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow ‘n’ Arrow.

Any new beauty discoveries:
I’ve always put powder blush on after foundation and before setting powder. A few days ago I read something online about putting on blush after powder, so I tried it and it worked so much better! The setting powder underneath helped with the blending of the blush, and it lasted so much longer.

Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones, NW5-10

Favorite look this week: I had seen a video on YT, actually Leesha’s video. Leesha is a friend of Christine’s. She and a friend were using the Huda Desert Dusk palette and they decided to play a game with it and they wrote the name of each shadow down and then put them all in a glass bowl. They agreed that they would alternate drawing colors. They had to use the color in the order they drew it and they could go back later and reuse the color if they had used it before. So, they had done this one other time but the video was corrupted so this was like a redo. I really loved the look that Leesha got from the shadows she drew so I recreated that look. I played with the idea of doing this myself, drawing shades, just to challenge myself and I may still do that. I would have to limit the number of shadows I would draw since I wouldn’t want to put 12 different shadows on my eyes so maybe do the first 6 drawn or something. Anyway, it turned out really beautiful and is something I might try with other palettes down the road, to challenge myself. The young lady doing it with Leesha ended up drawing all the shimmer shades and even though she didn’t have a transition shade her look turned out great also. I paired the eye shadow with my favorite blush, Hourglass Incandescent Electra and the lipstick was Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick in Campfire over a pink lip pencil. I love the color Campfire but it was a little too brown/rust for what I wanted so tried putting a pinky/fuschia pencil underneath and it worked great.

Most used product: Huda Desert Dusk Palette again this week.

Beauty discoveries: I purchased the Gerard Cosmetics lip pencil in Red Brick Road and a lipstick in Vintage Rose. These are my first purchases from Gerard Cosmetics and I really love both of them. I haven’t used them enough o determine whether they are long lasting, etc. but plan to use more this week so I should know whether I want to order more, but I am intrigued.
