MAC x Nicki Minaj Bosom Friend, Creme d'Nude, Derriere Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Bosom Friend
MAC Bosom Friend Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a light pink with subtle, warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was slightly less than expected given its Cremesheen finish. The texture was lightly creamy with a touch of tackiness that never felt heavy or overly slippery on the lips, but it was comfortable to wear and didn’t drag when applied directly from the tube. There was a bit of color that gathered in my lip lines over time but the coverage was rather even, which was a huge plus given how pale the shade itself was. The lipstick lasted for three and a half hours on me and was not drying.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Crème d'Nude
MAC Crème d’Nude Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a light, peachy beige with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer with a lightweight, lightly emollient texture that glided across the lips without tugging. The color applied fairly evenly, though there was a bit of product that got into my lip lines initially as well as more over time. It stayed on well for three and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Derriere
MAC Derriere Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a dark brown with warm, caramel undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which was buildable to full coverage with just a bit more on top. The consistency was smooth, velvet, and lightly creamy without being too slippery or thick on the lips. On me, it wore well for five hours with a bit of color settling over time and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Derrière is my favorite, really nice color. I’ve been in a buying mood lately so maybe!
Triple pass for me. Bosom Friend and Creme D-Nude are too light. And although I like brown lipstick, there is no way I will give my money to MAC for a brown lipstick called butt.
Amen to that, Seraphine! But “butt” looks sooo good…yet, can you just imagine being asked what you’re wearing on your lips????
Hilarious, So clever!
Uh oh, looks like I will need Derriere! It’s a 95% dupe of one of my fave lippies, CP Hollywood Boulevard, which was LE
Those first 2 are way too light at that fuller opacity for me, and I’m only an NC37, so I’ve been rather surprised by just how many of these nudes are so terribly pale considering this was helmed by Nicki Minaj? ?
Now here’s the shocker: I love the shade Derrière, but abhor its name. This shade, though, just blows me away. Normally, I stay away from this family of brown lipsticks because of them being too yellow based, but Derrière has a more nuanced caramel tone to it that makes it wearable. The name, though.
SO much no… That name… ug.
There is just something inherently wrong about naming brown lipstick or nail polish “Derriere”, “Backdoor” or “Taint”
Stupid name be darned, I brought and love Derriere lol . Not feeling most of the lip sticks in this collection though. Doesn’t seemed geared towards WOC like I thought Nikki Minaj would represent.
