MAC Richly Revered Cremesheen Glass

MAC Semi-Precious Cremesheen Glass Swatches, Photos, Reviews

MAC Semi-Precious Cremesheen Glass ($18.50 for 0.08 oz.) includes five, limited edition shades: Geo Pink (strawberry pink), Looks Like Sin (mid-tone reddish plum), Natural Flare (light caramel nude), Pure Magnificence (light grey pink), and Richly Revered (deep brown plum).

  • Geo Pink is a semi-opaque, orange-coral with soft, white-pink shimmer. I really don’t get “strawberry pink” with this. It’s much brighter and more orange-based than anything else. I even double-checked, but it’s really this orange on me. It’s like a richer, deeper MAC Fold and Tuck and rather comparable to MAC So Bad.
  • Looks Like Sin is a sheer plum with a glossy sheen. This is a repromoted shade. I couldn’t think of dupes for this shade.
  • Natural Flare is a semi-opaque, medium-dark, peach brown with white shimmer. It’s darker than Burberry Cameo and more pigmented than MAC Utterly Posh. It has a similar, but lighter, color base to MAC Stealing Kisses, less orange than MAC Light That Fire, and less orange/red than MAC Kumquat.
  • Pure Magnificence is a sheer, milky pastel pink with a cool undertone.  I can see why MAC Described this as a “grey pink.” Urban Decay Peroxide is a little bluer-based but similar in overall look. MAC Boy Bait also seems like it would be rather similar to this.
  • Richly Revered is a semi-sheer, dark, vampy plum-red with a glossy shine. It is very similar to NARS Nana.

Cremesheen Glass is a formula that glides onto the lips easily, feels comfortable without being thin or thick, and tends to be on the sheerer side in color.  It’s non-sticky (as compared to Lipglass, which is very thick and sticky), and it typically wears two hours or so on me before wearing away.  They also tend to be creamier colors, rather than packed with shimmer, but that’s not quite the case here, as both Geo Pink and Natural Flare have plenty of shimmer.  I’m not a big fan of the price point/quantity of these–a mere 0.08 oz., whereas lipglass contains 0.17 oz.

I absolutely LOVE Geo Pink, because it’s orange/coral and not pink 😉
It reminds me of Revlon’s Coral Glow, which was also limited. I use that one all the time…

Hey Christine! Do you think Revlon’s Coral Reef would be a dupe for Geo Pink? Also, I love your eyes! They look like a combination of brown and hazel 🙂

Christine, do you think Richly Revered would go well over the MAC Semi-Precious Musky Amethyst lipstick? Do you think if you layered them that the color would be a little more even?

While some of these glosses may not be super terrific on their own, they will be GREAT layered with the lipsticks in this collection and enhancing them. I know sometimes i planned to pass on glosses in other collections, but found they coordinated perfectly with the lipsticks. There’s definitely a one-on-one with these (except the fifth, Pure Magnificence, not shown here): Natural Flare with Lush Amber (peachy brown/tans); Geo Pink with Gem of Roses (rosy corals); Looks Like Sin with One of a Kind (sheer plums); and Richly Revered with Musky Amethyst (deep plum reds). I’m more excited about the Semi-Precious E/S and MSF, but now that i see your swatches, Christine, i will definitely be testing the lip colors during pre-sale, too. (BTW, i am excitedly awaiting delivery of your Jealousy Wakes eyeshadow 🙂

Natural Flare looks very close to Revlon’s Colorstay Lipgloss in Sunset Peach.
I love the berry shades, repromotes or not. Come more quickly, fall!

Ooooh, Geo Pink and Natural Flare look like they have the same type of shimmer that Strange Potion Lipglass has. I’m going to have to check these out.

Richly Revered is terrible. Glad the other 3 are much better. I would really only buy the Geo Pink though, as it seems it would make a fall version of Strange Potion.

I tried Looks Like Sin at my local MAC counter yesterday…it’s the perfect shade of red/plum for my lips! It looks really lovely alone and AMAZING over lipstick! Thanks so much for the review of these, Christine…I’ve found a new favorite MAC product thanks to you.

Please I want to buy the MAC Cremesheen Glass Lip gloss Richly Revered, I have the Looks like Sin. I want like a deep colour on my lips and Looks like sin isn’t deep enough would you suggest one. How would you say the Richly Revered is and what other products MAC or so that can give me that deep color in a gloss, it’s almost like MAC Rebel right?
