Rose Champagne

Wet ‘n’ Wild Rose Champagne Color Icon Blush ($2.99 for 0.20 oz.) is a soft peach with warm undertones and fine, gold pearl. It had a subtle shimmer-sheen finish that became softly luminous when buffed and blended out on the skin.

The brand says that it’s supposed to be a “buildable, blendable powder” with “long-lasting color.” It had good pigmentation that was buildably from mostly opaque to opaque. The blush had a fairly soft, lightly dusty texture that was blendable on the skin and easy to work with, especially if you’re someone who can be heavy-handed with blush. The color itself is on the lighter end of the spectrum, so it would be something that would show up more visibly on fairer skin tones than my light-medium complexion, where it worked more as a highlighter than a blush. It lasted well on my skin for seven and a half hours.

When they reformulated these blushers, the color changed. I was looking at my blush collection the other day, and saw I had the same color (as per the name) but the actual color on pan is SO different! I am going to take a picture later and post it!

Yes. The original color was matte and more nude, less peach. Then both versions of this blush were reported on the same display(s) with some reviewers describing a fine gold pearl and and others saying theirs was dusty nude matte. SO the company changed from matte to shimmer – both versions marketed in the same container with the same name. I think that was cause for disappointment in some corners. Certainly confused people who recommended one version and their reader(s) purchasing the others! Thank you, Christine, for taking the time to review these modest offerings. I love this line of blushes.

Absolutely love this blush color!! The fact that it’s wet and wild means I can actually afford it! That always makes it even better!
