Kevyn Aucoin The Molten Lip Color Topcoats Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Cyber Opal
Kevyn Aucoin Cyber Opal The Molten Lip Color Topcoat ($30.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a pale, pinkish white with fine pink and lavender pearl that shifts from pink to peachy-gold. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer. The gloss had a really milky quality to it, which made it prone to noticeable settling into every lip line I had, though the moderate shine and fine pearl helped distract from it when viewed at a normal distance. The consistency was light-medium in thickness–thicker than the average gloss but not goopy–with a slightly tacky texture. It was one of the lighter-weight glosses that have come out in the metallic finish lately.
The formula is described as a “comfortable long-wearing topcoat that compliments any lipstick color” that can “also be worn alone.” It lasted for four hours on me, which wasn’t terrible but not beyond the average gloss. The lipgloss did feel comfortable on as it was moderately hydrating. I would recommend dabbing it onto the center of lips over another lip color but using far less than a single pull of product as the base is too opaque and white-based to work well over a lot of other products (causes them to streak or become uneven and dramatically alters the color).

Cyber Sky
Kevyn Aucoin Cyber Sky The Molten Lip Color Topcoat ($30.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a pale, bluish-white with cool, blue and lavender pearl. It had a subtle shift from blue to violet on the lips, and the milky base seemed to disappear on the lips compared to Cyber Opal. It had semi-sheer coverage in a single layer, which applied somewhat evenly and only had some settling. It was more wearable on its own, and it worked better as a top coat as it wasn’t so opaque and added more of a shift/shimmering effect on top of other products. This shade lasted for four hours and was hydrating over time.

Would have loved cyber sky a few decades ago…. Now, it’d be major ‘trying too hard,’ even as a topper. Toppers will not be my trend, methinks.
I’m sure you have plenty of shimmery glosses or sheer, shimmery lipsticks that you can layer if you are so inclined!
Cyber Sky’s kind of cool (pun intended)! Kind of goes with the unicorn glow theme going on
Ha, ha, ha 😉
Cyber sky is STUNNING!!!!!! I love it!!
That was a fun one!
Cyber Sky looks so unique! Perfection to wear in our blazing, unrelenting heat wave for mental air conditioning, eh? This one reminds me of my tube of TF Unicorn Tears. Time to use it to chill out! LoL ?
Mental AC all the way!
Omg cyber sky is my ultimate colour! Although too faced is doing a latex lip version of unicorn tears and I’ve bought so many things this colour.. want them alllll
Hopefully, you wear them all, too 😀 Do you usually wear them alone or layered?
I do try, but I only have one pair of lips! And actually I often like them alone, looks more alieny, occasionally maybe just in the centre of purple toned lipsticks/liquid mattes though. Il have to wait until it’s out in the U.K. to try.
Haha! I hear that 😉
I am so excited you reviewed cyber sky as I have had my eye on it for some time! It’s gorgeous!!!!! I was waiting for the release of too faced latex unicorn tears when it first launched on June 15th but the unicorn tears seemed to be busy from the launch and they are not saying when it’s releasing! It is cheaper than cyber sky but I don’t think I can wait lol. It’s so pretty!!!
How weird that it did not launch initially! I don’t like ordering from Too Faced directly so have been waiting for everything to launch elsewhere for those.
Hmmm – no, I think they are a waste of money for me. But they are pretty shades.
I totally get that!
Woah! I was not expecting Cyber Sky!
Nice! I think I’d consider them for layering but they won’t be at the top of my list to buy. My favorite toppers are from Bite. They never seem too young or off trend. A hard balance.
I think Cyber Sky is better for layering – that one would be easy to use on a lot of products!
