The Best & Worst of ColourPop Summer 2017 Eyeshadows

ColourPop Summer 2017 Pressed Powder Shadows
ColourPop Summer 2017 Pressed Powder Shadows

ColourPop Summer 2017 Collection featured 12 new pressed powders and three new cream eyeshadows (and one repeat, Snakebite). I’ve now finished reviewing all of the new shades, so this post features a recap of how well (or poorly!) each shade did.

The three Super Shock Shadows did well, which came as no surprise as they were fairly pigmented and definitely long-wearing. The majority of the Pressed Powder Eyeshadows performed well, though there was one miss (Muscle Beach). I love that there is a brand that is putting out more hits than misses with quality that is often on-par with much more expensive products and brands.

My favorite shades: As You Wave, Rose All Day, and Board Shorts.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

You have to hand it to ColourPop, their products are consistently good and they manage to do it at a low price point. These are lovely summer shades and since I haven’t picked up any ColourPop in awhile I am ordering a couple of these today. These roundups are so helpful, Christine. Thank you.

Christine, do you have any plans to review Colourpop’s newly released ‘Cute AF’ 12 pan eyeshadow palette? The colours reminds me alot of the Natasha Denona Sunset palette that I’ve been coveting!

I purchased both the Lil’ Boat and Beach Blanket and they are both very good in terms of shade and coverage. However, this last order I placed was missing one other pressed shadow that I purchased and Colourpop is a VERY DIFFICULT company to deal with when something is wrong. I have placed five orders with them previously (their contouring sticks were outstanding) and have never had an issue with any of those orders but this latest one was missing an item and they are ridiculous despite my emailing them with a very clear description of the issue, which item was missing and all the necessary references needed. Their customer service is the worst I’ve experienced in quite some time. It’s all good but when there’s a hiccup, brace yourself.

I would suggest e-mailing again. I had 3 blush arrive broken once and e-mailed them pictures. They sent new ones without question. Maybe you got a bad rep? Good luck 😉

Colour Pop rocks — consistent good quality, consistent affordability, thoughtful development (e.g., going into pressed eyeshadows) while remaining true to its core. The only disappointments I’ve experienced are a couple of shipping snafus (proportionately few considering how much I’ve ordered from them) and those pressed pigments that look like but cannot be used as eyeshadows. Also, I hope they’ll choose to sell some of the eyeshadows currently only available in palettes as singles.

In this set, I’m going for Salt Water and Ready or Yacht; maybe also Sea Stars.

Agreed. I bloody well LOVE ColourPop. S.t. I think it might be easier to replace a broken item than do a CS roundabout. I photoed it, but haven’t ever followed through. Honestly, I was shocked, as padded as the package always is. They are an exemplar of the phrase ‘What’s not to love?’
