Chanel Peregrina Rouge Coco Lipstick
Chanel Spring 2011: Peregrina
Chanel Peregrina Rouge Coco Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is semi-sheer, lightened peach with a touch of pink to keep it muted and not orange. It has faint pale peach/white micro-shimmer and a soft, reflective shine. It is a new shade from the the Spring collection, which is online now and seems to be coming out in stores rapidly, too.
It is pinker and less frosty than Ruban Rose. It is brighter and packed with more color than Stunning. The closest Rouge Coco shade would be Chintz. which is a touch more muted. Smashbox Splendid is incredibly similar with no real discernible difference in color.
Rouge Coco is a slightly drier formula, because most of the shades are frost finishes, but I don’t find it drying–it’s just not moisturizing. It has a light vanilla-rose scent that’s rather faint but still detectable. It doesn’t seem to linger, though. On average, Rouge Cocos last four hours on me. I like the formula overall, and the shade range tends to be very wearable with a wide variety of colors from pinks to browns to reds.

FINAL THOUGHTS: For spring, it’s a shade one would expect to see. It should be flattering on a wide range of skin tones, because it’s not too warm of a peach, and the semi-sheer color makes it blend with the natural lip color, too. The Rouge Coco formula is most suitable for those with relatively healthy lips; if your lips are dry and cracking, I would recommend opting for a more moisturizing formula (perhaps Rouge Allure, if you want to stay within Chanel).

This is the peach lipstick I have been searching for & I also got the Peche pencil which goes beautifully with Peregrina. A touch of glossimer over this helps with the dryness (especially for those of us battling the Northeast weather right now). I am planning on getting the Argonite but I just tried the Moonlight Glossimer over it and it looks really pretty.
Christine, have you ever done a review on Chanel Pro Lumiere (sp.?) foundation, it’s the one with “the best” coverage?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work well my skin.
It’s so pretty but I already have both Stunning and Chintz so I should probably skip it.
This color looks kinda meh in the tube, but beautiful on.
Hm…kind of unimpressive in person. On you it’s still beautiful, just your lips but better, not the real peach I was hoping for – I think I’ll get Sari Dore! I think it’s perm here, but without your swatch I never would have even considered it!
I like how sheer this color is. It looks really flattering on you
That color looks great on you Christine! Gonna have to try that one on when I go for my Chanel haul this week.
I love this colour! I will need to get one too!
This shade is so French. Everything about it is pretty, and so I hope to get my manicured claws on a tube of it. I would love to use Peregrina in the fashion video shoot I have been planning.
Wow, that’s so close to your lip color!
That is definitely a MLBB shade on you, Christine, at least by the pics. Really flattering.
Very pretty, but I feel $30 is just too much for something so subtle.
Love the color!!! And it suits you great!
is it limited edition?
hi christine, i am NC 30, i own rouge coco jersey rose. my lips are quite pinky as it is, i am looking for something peachy… do you think Peregrina is too close to Jersey Rose?
It’s a little bit different!
