NYX State of Flux Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter Review, Photos, Swatches
State of Flux
NYX State of Flux Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter ($6.99 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is an icy, light pink with cool undertones and a sparkling sheen. The finish had larger sparkles in it and less fine ones compared to most shades in the range, so if you aren’t a fan of sparkle, this might be one to skip. It had sheer to medium coverage (hard to get it to be opaque without piling on four to five layers of product, at which point, the product is too thick and flakes off). The consistency was blendable, lightweight, and thin with a more watery, cooler feel on the skin. It dried down and lasted for seven hours on me.
The Away We Glow formula is a liquid highlighter that has buildable coverage “from soft to intense.” The brand recommends to “dab and blend” on skin for “irresistible illumination.” There are nine shades available, and the shimmer varied from shade to shade: fine pearl to chunkier sparkle. The formula has a watery, thin feel from the tube, and I liked getting a bit on the back of my hand and then dabbing with fingertips or a stippling brush onto the cheeks and high planes of the face for highlighting. It did dry down after a minute or so, and the wear ranged from seven to eight hours.

What are the ingredients?
Check NYX’s website! These didn’t come with a box, just the tube.
This looks like it could be a pretty one if worn for an icy effect, especially with cooler or neutral tones! It almost appears lavender-ish? But I’m set with Opal from KVD Alchemist and MAC Pearl Blossom.
Opal should keep you covered 🙂
Yeah, this shade might be too frosty for my taste but the pink tone is nice. I’m surprised it cooler than Cover FX Celestial considering how frosty that shade it. *_*
Opal if definitely pinker than both of these.
I think I’d use this one on the eyes with the sparkle being more pronounced.
That would be pretty!
This looks like it could be a dupe for the Milk Makeup Holographic stick- at 21$ less! I just purchased the holographic stick and it’s a gorgeous lavender shimmer that can be built upon for more intensity. Does anyone have both to compare? (I know the formulas are different, but still).
My guess is this might be more shimmery – like larger particles vs. the Milk stick? I don’t have that so I’m not sure myself.
