Lancome Polished Rose, Lavender Patina, Orange Ore Le Metallique Lip Lacquers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Polished Rose (01)
Lancome Polished Rose (01) Le Metallique Metallic Lip Lacquer ($22.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a medium rosy pink with cooler undertones and warmer gold and pink pearl. It had medium, somewhat buildable coverage with a very glossy finish. The consistency was light-medium in thickness, tacky, and did not leave “lines” if I pressed my lips together. I did have a bit of the pinker base settle into my lip lines, though. The gloss lasted for five hours and was hydrating over time.
The Le Metallique formula is supposed to have “full-coverage” with a “rich, creamy texture” that is hydrating and long-wearing. First and foremost, if you do not like tacky gloss, you’ll want to stay far away from these; the formula is very tacky and is a thicker, denser formula. They are longer wearing as a result, though, and most shades fell within four to six hours of wear for me and retain a really high-shine, high-gloss finish that almost looks wet and lasts throughout the wear time. Most shades were semi-opaque to opaque, but as the formula was thicker, I would hesitate to add more product to get more coverage. They seemed to have no discernible scent or taste to me.

Lavender Patina (02)
Lancome Lavender Patina (02) Le Metallique Metallic Lip Lacquer ($22.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium mauve with multi-colored pearl and cool undertones. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a fairly smooth, even application with a lot of noticeable shimmer. The consistency was light-medium in weight, definitely tacky but very smooth. The finish was incredibly glossy and shiny to the point that it looked wet. It wore for just over five hours on me, and the formula was comfortable and moisturizing.

Orange Ore (03)
Lancome Orange Ore (03) Le Metallique Metallic Lip Lacquer ($22.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium tangerine orange with warm undertonews and fine, gold pearl. It had good pigmentation–not quite opaque–that covered the lips evenly. However, this one settled into my lip lines in a major way! The gloss was tacky, light-medium in weight, and comfortable to wear, as it was hydrating. It lasted well for six hours on me.

Lavendar Patina and Orange Ore are really pretty colors! Nice to see they did fine compared to Polished Rose.
They are pretty!
I like the color of Polishes Rose but I can’t say I’m a fan of this particular finish.
Totally understand!
I love the look of Orange Ore. It also looks fabulous with your eye makeup!
Aw, thank you!
Agreed, its perfect for this eye look.
Oh crap, LOVE glosses with gold shimmer! Polished Rose looks beautiful!! And I don’t mind tackiness, as I usually thin it out with SFP lip balm anyway.
I’m curious if you can thin these out, they are soo tacky!
Orange Ore is so beautiful for the warmer weather! Although, the gathering into lip lines doesn’t sound too appealing, I think I can head that off with lip primer and lipliner in a similar shade. Worth trying, I think!
Lavender Patina is ALSO calling to me! But I’d definitely need to do a try-on before buying, because it may be too light or cool toned against my skintone. But me with all things purple is a given!
Primer + liner would definitely help 🙂
I don’t generally wear gloss as “gloss” but rather a balm to moisturize my lips for liquid lipstick. Having said that, the gloss and shimmer of these might make me change my mind. I really love the look of both Polished Rose and Lavender Patina. I don’t know whether I would be able to handle the stickiness, though. I will have to try and swatch them when I am into Spokane next.
Yeah, your threshold for stickiness is going to be tested with these!
Lavender Patina is really pretty, I wonder if it would look patchy on me since my lips are dark.
I wonder if it would!
I guess the pendulum is starting to swing away from ultra-matte lipsticks!
I’m tempted to try Lavender Patina even though the tackiness might drive me nuts. I just really like the almost silvery sheen it seems to have…
They are pretty sticky – definitely to the point where if you don’t like tacky gloss, these might be a total miss!
These are really pretty, especially the orange! Christine, would you say these leave behind flecks of glitter on the lips? (MAC dazzle glass used to leave glitter behind and it drove me nuts!) Thanks!
Not as much as Dazzleglass, but you definitely will have remaining pieces of pearl (I find the shimmer in these to be finer than Dazzleglass).
I love the rose and the orange one. They look sooooo good. Any idea when they will be available in Europe or especially in Germany ? Thank you.
I’m not sure, Kylie! 🙁
Oh, wow. I love all three. I may have to order the rose and lavender shades. I love orange, but it does not love me. Also love your eye looks today.
Thank you, Shari!
I can’t wait for your reviews of the blue and purple shades, some of them look very promising!
The rose and lavender are gorgeous and pretty unique. I think I can handle the tackiness…I may get those two.
Color me ignorant but this is not what I would call “metallic finish”! Glossy sparkly doesn’t equal metallic.
That being said, I live the lavender gloss – but I have a dupe for 6 Euro.
I LOVE your eye look here, Christine! For the years that I’ve been relying on your reviews, I’ve always admired how creative you are with your usage of different colors. Keep up your hard (and very, very good) work! xoxo, Madeline
