NARS Breaking Free & Kiss Me Stupid Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Breaking Free
NARS Breaking Free Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brighter, medium coral with warm, orange undertones and a satin sheen. It had good pigmentation, though it was not full coverage, with a thinner texture that tugged just slightly at the lips due to the firmer formula. The color lasted just over four hours on me, but some of the color gathered in my lip lines after two and a half hours of wear. The formula was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Kiss Me Stupid
NARS Kiss Me Stupid Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with warm, peachy undertones and a satin sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly. The consistency had a bit more slip and body to it compared to Breaking Free, which I suspect is why this shade applied better, was more flattering on the lips, and actually felt a little hydrating. On me, the lipstick wore well for four hours.

Oooh, all hits for me!
That is great news!
Oooh, Kiss Me Stupid looks like an orange I might be able to pull off, will try to swatch in store
Let us know how it works for you, Katherine!
“Kiss me stupid” looks very pretty on you Christine!
Thanks, Amirah!
Loving Kiss Me Stupid.
Yay!
You can tell I spent my day at day job, getting irritable and picky. Is the second shade supposed to be Kiss Me, Stupid, or Kiss Me Stupid. Methinks the latter, the way it is. Commas do make a difference. Whichever way, it is flattering.
The press release has it without the comma, but I didn’t photograph the label on this one (NARS’ launches are so edited that it’s hard to confuse the names!).
Neither of those shades interest me much for my coloring. They feel spring like though.
Maybe next time 🙂
Meh for moi.
More for the next launch!
I hate these shades on myself, but I really like how they look on you christine!!
Neither will work for me. I am very pale so from that point of view you would think they would work but my lips are so pigmented that light shades look terrible on me and look nothing like the original color. Oh well maybe next time!
Yep, I’m arriving 2 days late to this post! Wednesday was crazy busy food shopping. That aside, I think I actually love “Kiss Me Stupid”! It does look better suited to wear right now, though. Reminds me of a cozy sweater and sitting by the fireside warming up while sipping some hot chai! Oh yeah. ?
