Selena had a thing for white roses, it was also on the cover of some of her cd’s.
Yes, I figured white roses must have been a favorite or signature item for Selena 🙂
I figured that must be as well. What a time crunch to send these out though as roses in transit would wilt being cut like this. *_*

Selena herself is really beautiful. That’s the sort of shade that makes me abandon rationality.
Right? I think it’s my favorite shadow, it has her name – but would I wear it more than once or twice?
That shade really stands out! But how to wear on hooded eyelids? Yet I’m drawn to it!
Overall, looks promising. Of course, I like my usual suspects. What intrigues me the most is the dual blush. Blunt swatches much more puce than the brown in the pan. And Come With Me (isn’t it? Very small Spanish language here) in the swatch looks far more wearable and neutral than the pan photo, which looks as if it would be more pink. Liking this, and puces not only haven’t been done well in a while, but it adds a bit of Selena’s favorite purple into the shade.
WOW – is that how it was packaged? With those white rose-buds? How pretty. Nothing here that interests me (and I have my own issues with companies selling stuff off the backs of dead people but that’s my issue) but that packaging is so nice.
Yeah, they sent out press kits with white roses around the perimeter, and then there were six products in the inset box! (MAC was kind enough to send me the full collection on top of that, as the actual press kit wasn’t the full launch.)
The inclusion of those white roses is so deeply moving and shows their respect for this beautiful life cut down so brutally and far too young. My daughter and I loved Selena’s music and style. She was truly one of a kind.
There was an online campaign from the fans with thousands of signatures for Mac to do this Collection. Her family aproved it and in fact gave Mac her makeup bag for so that Mac can make copies of Selenas favorite lipsticks and eueshadows. This colection is suppose to be a replica of Selenas favorite products.

Selena’s family wanted to collab with Mac because Selena loved them. I think it is a beautiful and touching tribute, if she liked the brand and her family is behind it. Any fans of hers who love makeup would be happy to have them as well.
Overall, this looks like a very solid collection! The 2 pink eye shadows look kind of weak (will need primer/cream base), but everything else looks great. I MUST have that Selena, purple eye shadow. The 3 lipsticks are gorgeous (definitely a Selena red in there!), liking Amor Prohibido lipstick, nice pigment on that black shadow (thank god they didn’t resurrect Carbon), and that powder kit has amazing colors. I can’t pull off that darker color, but it sure will look gorgeous on medium to darker skin tones. Wish they had done the lighter color as a full size, would’ve considered it.
Soon as I saw the swatch of the purple eye shadow, I remembered from yesterday that you were keen on it. It is a beautiful shade of purple that would work well with any other colour.
I’m surprised at the lightness of some of the shadows as I remember her favoring darker makeup, but I’m assuming that Mac worked in collaboration with Selena’s family (Suzette,her sister) and got all the details right.
The lipsticks look promising.
I REALLY hope they are stocked well on this collection. There is going to be mania when this releases! I could go for all of the lip products. MAC did such a great job. II’ve been following this creation and release. I love how involved her family and friends were. Here’s to hoping I can get my hands on at least a few items!
These roses are gorgeous, way to step it up MAC. And the collection looks promising too! That purple eyeshadow is really pretty!

I’m excited to hear more about this collection! I am loving the lipsticks and lipglass already, and the Selena eyeshadow is such a pretty color.
You know, I thought there would be something called “El chico del apartamento 512” (The guy of apartment 512) as it’s one of her most famous song in Spanish and my favorite but at least Amor prohibido and Bidi bidi bom bom look so gorgeous. I hope MAC have made enough quantities of product as she was a really big Latina icon not only in the US but in Mexico, my mom still remembers her death and when I posted Buzzfeed article of the collection on Facebook many of my friends were interested.
Two things: do you know when it will available in Mexico? Would fotos y recuerdos work as a blush? The powder blush duo still don’t convince me.
I thought the exact same thing! I was expecting something using “El Chico del Apartamento 512” for it is also my favorite song. But I’m very happy with the collection, after all.

I’m so excited for this collection! My mac store is going to have it she told me to get there early! This is definitely going to be a sellout! That’s the prettiest PR package I’ve ever seen! I can’t believe they sent real roses!

Selena eyeshadow *swoons*. Must nab that gorgeous purple, it is the perfect Selena shade and the perfect purple!
Plus these lip products are so very much her colors, and they swatch with some really rich color! Actually, everything does. The cheek duo is amazing, but sadly, I’m not so huge on light pink blush. But I still might go for it because Blunt would be a great contour on my skintone!
I’m torn between wanting all three lipsticks and knowing that I’d likely only wear Amor Prohibido. And I’m hoping that blush/bronzer duo rates better than they usually do…

I’m in awe of th Roses! How’d they do that and get them to you in very warm weather? What a fitting tribute to a life too short. Products look nice, waiting on you review. Please include how they packaged the roses for the very curious!
They ship them priority overnight, which is guaranteed by 10:30AM – shipped the night before. But I’ve ordered/received flowers online, and it’s typical for them to arrive about 24-36 hours after you order. They have individual water containers at the stem, to keep them alive.

It is an interesting collection, because overall, the swatches are good. I loved the two brighter lipsticks and the purple eye shadow looks glorious. The matte black and caramel eye shadow shades are a bit meh – lots of dupes for those and could have been made into something more unique.
Selena was a remarkable performer and I think these colors represent her grace and beauty. Viva Selena!
Hi Christine! Question… Do u think Ven Conmigo will show up nicely on NW43 skin??? I desperately need another Blunt blush/bronzer so this would be a perfect opportunity. I saw it on someone whos about an NC45 but she dislikes blush so she didn’t really “dig in” so to speak lol, thanks!
I knew there was a reason I was feeling that compact lol. I love Blunt! It’s a wonderful contouring blush for me and it looks so natural. I could live without the blush part but I’ll probably still end up grabbing the compact just to have Blunt in Selena’s pretty purple packaging. Surprisingly, the lipsticks aren’t grabbing me but I do really like the lip gloss. I may end up grabbing that too
I really want this collection. But I feel a lot of stuff is just repackaged with a different name. What do you think? Can you do comparison swatches?

I really want to buy for my self not like other people that sales them on eBay for ridiculous prices is very sad because I really wanted that highlighter OH DARLING and it was sold out so fast 🙁
