The texture was soft, just a smidgen dusty but not actually dry to the touch, with a smooth, blendable feel overall. It applied well to the skin and yielded a noticeable sheen, which didn’t emphasize pores unless worn more heavily. It was semi-opaque, which was easily built up or sheered out for a less intense highlight. I thought it was a bit less pigmented compared to other shades, but it was more forgiving applied to the skin and generally easier to work with. The color wore well for eight hours before fading on me.

MAC Pearl Blossom is a straight up pink blush on me. Do you think this would be, on very fair tones? This looks like it has less pigmentation to the base color.

It’s already sold out on line at Sephora in Canada and not available within a 150 km radius of me. How can they DO THIS???? Of course, if they make it permanent, that would solve my problem.

Ella Avatar

Hey, from Canada too. I bought it online yesterday and noticed it sold out later that day too but it’s back up on the site now! You should snatch it up quick. 🙂

tiramisu Avatar

I know it’s still available at b-glowing, but not sure how much it would cost to ship to you (they do international shipping, even to China, but like not sure if it’s included in the free shipping)

Julia Avatar

I almost jumped on this as soon as it went live on Sephora, but then I started to think A) “that looks a LOT like ABH Starburst” and B) to their credit, Becca makes their LE items permanent if they do well, just like Blushed Copper, Champagne Pop, etc, etc. So I have a feeling that even if this sells out, I will have a chance to get it again one way or another.

Mariella Avatar

Ooooh, Julia – your words are a balm, since this is sold out in Canada. This really is one that should be permanent (I said the same about the Dior Glowing Gardens Pink but that was sold out in no time flat, though I was lucky enough to be able to grab that beauty).

It’s pretty! I ill need to check this out in person. The swatch shows all white shimmer, which can look chalky on my skin, but the description says this has yellow undertones and fine gold and rose shimmer, which will play very nicely with my yellow undertones.

Okay, okay. So I read this for the review…. but….

That is a gorgeous eye look, Christine! In fact, I like the whole look overall. Very fresh, very pretty. Might just steal this one.

Well, with the holiday collections/value sets/sales/promos pouring in like crazy, I don’t have any hope of holding to a low buy until 2017. It’s like trying to start a diet right before the holidays, hopeless !! But I usually don’t buy as much during spring, as spring collections usually aren’t that large or great …but yes, it’s great to be closer to family, hopefully that will give you some incentive to stick to the low buy 🙂

I like this better then champagne pop, I find champagne pop emphasis the texture on my skin (even though the area I’m highlighting is relatively smooth and the pores are invisible). Rose Quartz looks like it would give highlight without being OTT. I’ll have to wait till it gets to the UK!

Rebekah Avatar

Oh wow I didn’t want this but now I do! Christine, does it compare at all to the highlight shade in Tom Ford Softcore? I shattered mine and have been on the hunt ever since!

Ashley Avatar

Ha, once I opened it I immediately swatched Starburst to compare the two.

I have a feeling this shade will make another appearance over the holidays but I’m really glad I bought it now that I’ve had a chance to play around with it.

Ashley Avatar

They’re both quite nice but Rose Quartz is definitely the more subtle of the two, which isn’t a bad thing but I agree with you that RQ seems to be less intense than the other Becca shades as well

Alecto Avatar

Christine, when you say something “wore well for eight hours before fading,” does that mean it wore for eight hours before you saw any change in the intensity, or it wore for eight hours before it disappeared?

BTW, your eye look is flawless — they look airbrushed!

Sheena Avatar

Christine! Please make a review of the new Clinique Cheek pop Black Honey and Pink Honey!! I don’t see reviews/swatches about it!! I think these arenew in their line. As always you’re my go-to reliable product reviewer. With that being said, your review on this Becca Rose Quartz just makes it official, this will be my first Becca highlighter!! (I know its insane, I don’t like any of their existing shades of highlighters that much to get one before.)

Pami Avatar

That is just magical! I’m glad to see it got a good review, I love how dimensional the coloring is, and I always love pinks with golds. I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist this one! 🙂

Pami Avatar

It just dawned on me that it’s like a pale version of Becca’s Gypsy blush. No wonder I like it so much! I also love the special packaging, and that it’s light enough for me to use as a highlighter.

Michelle Avatar

Glad to see this review. I just bought the Lorac Moonlight from the 21 Days Sale at Ulta and really love it. After I got that one I saw this one was coming out. I’m happy to know they are similar. I am loving my Lorac one, and I saved money buying that one instead.

Melissa Avatar

Does anyone have this & OFRA’s You Glow Girl (one of the dupe that collab shades)? I have the OFRA & am thinking this may be similar but am really hoping to find comparison swatches somewhere. Anyone??

Erika Avatar

I had this on my wishlist, but I just got Lorac’s Moonlight highlight, and this looks almost identical in the photos. I actually prefer Lorac’s formula, but loving Becca’s Opal so much makes me tempted. 🙂

jonirae Avatar

hey, late to the party… (in finding your review, anyway, I ordered this the second I saw it!)
I was so happy about this because most of the other ones are either too dark, way too dark, or too yellow for me; I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a pinky one until now!

so anyway, you mentioned that this one seems less pigmented than the others, and I agree. in your opinion, though, do you think this is less sparkly than the others? it doesn’t look shimmery at all in the pan, so I was pleasantly surprised once I got it into my face, tho I still felt like it was a little more subtle than the rest…
all I know for sure is that I too hope they add this to the permanent line… and am crossing my fingers for a poured and/or liquid version, too!
