The collection of NARS Hardwired Eyeshadows ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) includes six, limited edition shades, with two shades released previously (though not under the name “Hardwired”). Here’s a quick look at them while I work on testing them!

I too love how it looks in the pan (hence my earlier and immediate “eye shadow addict” comment) but looking at the swatches, it as well as Lunar and Outer Limits all look chunky. Even Stud looks a bit chunky. But Parallax and Pygar look absolutely wonderful – smooth and reflective all at the same time.

I was thinking that the lunar and earthshine are the single shadows in full size from the parallel universe duo. I have it and they look the exact same. I don’t have the full size ones to compare for exact yet. I looked up the duo on nars website and the shades in the duo were describe as soft irredescent lilac and soft irredescent pink and had no names for the single shadows. But these new ones are described the exact same way on sephoras website. Glad I’m not the only one who noticed!

I pulled out Stud yesterday in honour of these coming out again. Funny, because I found in the sticky northeastern heat, I had a lot less fallout than before 😛 (not that it was terrible, but it was there in colder weather).

Outer Limits is gorgeous, but if memory serves, it kinda went everywhere. Pygar makes me drool…

Can you tell me if stud is warm or cool toned? I’ve been on the hunt for a cool toned silvery taupe eyeshadow or just cool toned taupe for the lid with no luck. I’m very fair with cool toned skin. Warm toned shadows typically look terrible on me. Thanks a lot!

Christine, you have read my mind! I was searching the internet for swatches yesterday, couldn’t find any, and today bingo!! A few of these look like fallout will be issue, but Pygar is gorgeous and also eyeing Outer Limits. Already have Stud, which is beautiful

Lovely. It seems that ‘hardwired’ does not connote a specific formula, esp since two possibly are hella similar (or the same,) and not called hardwired. Confusing. Getting tempted by the DI blush palette, but not by these. Kind of wish hardwired had a definite meaning. These would be ‘trying too hard’ e/s on s.o. my age. Prob have enough shimmer and glitter for my lifetime. Prayers for Munchen und Ochsenfurt.

Aren’t Parallax and Lunar mixed up? I only mention because I saw these on Sephora’s website this morning. Or maybe Sephora mixed the colors up! 🙂

It does look like Sephora messed up the colors! I’m ordering Parallax so I hope I get the pretty metallic grey with the nice (is it slightly greenish blue) shift?

looking forward to your full reviews christine. the colours look pretty, and i’m wondering how similar earthshine is to the left side of the dolomites duo!

Christine’s right – Sephora has them mislabelled and someone has even tried to draw it to their attention in the “Question and Answer” section. They’ve done this in past with some of the Bare Minerals eyeshadow quads. I guess when you handle that much product, it’s easy to make a mistake but they should fix it double quick.

Christine, I don’t want to be a nag but do you know when dupes will be up for these? I am getting Stud (I only have one or two dupes for it) but really love Pygar and Parallax but I have the funny feeling that I probably have about 5 eyeshadows that are very, very close to both of them (especially Pygar) so was hoping to be able to do a check.

The weird thing is that Sephora’s own “find” feature shows this as being at my local Sephora and then an hour later, it’s only available at the Walden Galleria and other stores on the other side of the border. A few hours later, it will be available at my local and then 10 minutes later, not there again (all the shades). Clearly it’s a glitch in their own system but also, their phones are not working! I tried calling the TWO stores nearest me and when I hit “3” to speak to a SA, I get either dead air or the #2 option which is to leave a message for the store director. It is SO FRUSTRATING as I don’t want to drive all the way there and not be able to get any of the shades I’m wanting.

Oh man, I am a little nervous about these…I ordered Earthshine and Outer Limits and they look WAY more glittery than I thought they’d be…

I picked up Pygar and Stud a few days ago (that “it’s LE; I gotta have it before it’s gone” hysteria kicked in). They didn’t have Parallax in the store (or someone had walked off with the tester) so that one will have to wait. These are REALLY, REALLY metallic but those 2 shades are so creamy and smooth and lacking in fallout. Pygar was far less green that I thought/hoped it would be. It’s very close to the dreaded UD Maui Wowie, only without the shower of glitter. Both are fabulous in texture. I did try Outer Limits and Earthshine while I was in the store and found both to be gritty and much like how they look here – made up of that “free-standing” glitter that is very prone to fall out throughout the day.
