Best & Worst of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipsticks

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a hydrating, pigmented, longer-wearing formula that’s comfortable to wear and forgiving applied (meaning: it helps make lips appear smoother, plumper, and healthier, even when they are not in perfect condition!). They come in a variety of hues from bright pinks to oranges to deep berries. The formula has a vanilla scent but no discernible taste (a contrast from past Estee Lauder lip products).

I didn’t expect to, but I absolutely love this formula! Smooth, glossy finish, wears nicely and doesn’t settle into my liplines at all unlike pretty much every other non-matte lip product I’ve tried.

I have Rebellious Rose and Discreet, and I’m torn between Dynamic and Intense Nude for my next purchase. They look really similar in your swatches – any recs to make it an easier choice?

Christine, if you had to choose–in general–between this line and the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lips, which would you go for? (& thanks for your fantastic swatches and round-ups!)

In the gray box Estee is missing the “E”. Thanks for the roundup. I own Rebellious Rose and love the weight of the lipstick and color. Though at $30/piece they are too expensive to purchase more.

I have Rebellious Rose, Impulsive, Reckless, Defiant Coral and Potent. I love wearing Defiant Coral & Potent together. I ALWAYS get compliments and questions on what I’m wearing. I really love how Fierce and Decadent look on you, I have to add those in my cart next 🙂

I loved this line when it came out.. thought it was a really great formula, but the competition in lipstick is now so incredibly fierce.. and I don’t find myself wearing conventional lip colours. Instead, NARS audacious, TF Lips and Boys, Bite Beauty and others etc.. all have some truly interesting shades to choose from that don’t look like the safe choice so my EL’s are sadly not getting any love these days 🙁

As far as color is concerned, I think I could wear all except #8. After prior experience with Ester Lauder products, the biggest drawback overall is the super strong scent. I would reserve final judgement until actually seeing and smelling them. Based on your review, they might finally be reducing that fragrance issue.
