Estee Lauder Emotional (140) Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick

Estee Lauder Emotional (140) Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “warm, rusty brown.” It’s a medium-dark red with strong, warm undertones and a luminous shine. It had mostly opaque color coverage–there was a slight translucency overall–and long-wear that topped in at six hours, plus it left a residual stain. It was moderately hydrating and comfortable to wear. Fyrinnae Winter Romance (P, $7.00) is slightly darker. Tom Ford Beauty Rouge Fatal (LE, $45.00) is brighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Showstopper (134) (P, $30.00) is similar. Chanel Enigmatique (135) (P, $34.00) is more matte, lighter. NARS Majella (P, $25.00) is more matte. Guerlain Calligraphy #6 (LE) is more matte, warmer. Guerlain Gisela (LE, $51.00) is slightly darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Estee Lauder Decadent (150) Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “deep, rich red-brown.” It’s a slightly muted, medium-dark reddish-brown that almost looks like a really warm-toned plum. It had mostly opaque color coverage with a little translucency, but the consistency was lightly creamy, so the lipstick was easy to apply and comfortable to wear for the five hours it lasted on me. Tom Ford Beauty Bittersweet (03) (LE, $49.00) and Bobbi Brown Plum Shimmer (3) (P, $25.00) are lighter, sheerer. Maybelline Untainted Spice (950) (P, $7.49) is cooler-toned, less red. MAC Studded Kiss (LE, $16.00) is redder, darker, more matte. Chanel Farouche (122) (P, $34.00) is more matte, slightly browner. NARS 413 BLKR (LE, $26.00) is a touch redder, matte. NARS Amsterdam (P, $26.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I just tried these in store like an hour back.. and they are so amazing! Sadly the colors I wanted were sold out..(I am always to the party!) You can carry off any color and make it look cool! 😀

Aww! 🙁 What colors were sold out when you went? Thankfully they’re permanent so you can get ’em later!

A little too bricky for this cool-toned vampire, but I’m pretty excited about these lipsticks in general 😉 Not like the collection is short on colour options, LOL!

You look lovely in these colours, Christine – especially Decandent, I think!

Hmm, I’m not feeling these. I often love and covet warm lipsticks but there is just something slightly off on these that I’m not loving.

I want these so bad but they launched the Envy Shine lipsticks here in Japan instead of these. The Envy Shines are sheerer and the colors much lighter though packaging is the same. I was hoping to pick up a shade or two of these online as sephora.com now ships to Japan but they don’t ship this particular product 🙁
