My all-time favorite blush is a bright fuchsia, the sadly LE and DC’d NARS Coeur Battant. While it is SUPER intense, magically it transforms into the most natural flush on my skin. I think the brightest blushes often end up looking the most natural when applied lightly. Thankfully my original isn’t on pan yet and I have a backup. Fuchsia tends to work extremely well for my skin tone. Surrat’s Se Pomponner is another favorite. I like the CP ones, but not as much as those two. MUFE’s Artist Shadow line in Mauve (satin), Electric Magenta (metallic), and Neon Pink (satin) are also favorites.

Exactly. The sort of stained flush look is very much in the spirit of old school rouge in bright, bold colors for depth of color that looks like it’s coming from within. Fuchsia can very much be in that spirit.

The only vivid fuchsia blush I have is Colourpop Pie, but MAC Azalea is an awesome looking fuchsia with a bit more “warmth”.
I was extremely tempted to purchase the MAC LE blush from their Flamingo Park collection, This Could Be Fun. On me, it did appear more fuchsia, less purple-ish. But I talked myself out of it when I swatched it side-by-side with Pie. Too similar, I thought.

Definitely what Christine said. You could try using a very light touch with a fan brush or other feathery brush. Alternatively you tone it back a bit by applying a much lighter-toned highlight than your blending that a bit into the blush or patting on some powder (your skin tone or translucent) over-top. Also, many fuchsias take to cooling down very well so you can customize shades by adding a light and cool-toned pink or lilac/lavender shade to it.

My favorite was the ORIGINAL ‘Pink Pool’ from Lancome. The ‘Shimmer Pink Pool’ that replaced it was lightened by 2-3 shades, taking it from a mid-tone fuchsia to a hot pink. I still have an original ‘Pink Pool’ and I hoard it. (Hit pan on it recently. /cry)

If I would have known it was going to be discontinued/reformulated, I would have purchased a few backups. Just *POOF!* One day it was all gone! (from the stores) I stalk it on eBay. <3

Funnily enough, my fave fuchsia blushes are all non-powder formulas. Daniel Sandler’s Watercolour in Flushed is a long-time go-to for a more natural bright pink, and the LE shade Trip is fantastically vivid. (Might be called Acid – there was a vivid pink and a vivid orange, and one was Acid and the other Trip. I can never remember which goes with which, lol.)

I think Revlon has sadly discontinued the Photoready cream blush, but the fuchsia one is gorgeous, if anyone can still find it. And elf has a lovely cream blush as well.

My other favourite, which leans a little more magenta, is a Cargo multi-purpose blush stick. Can’t think of the shade name (and the sticker has fallen off!) but it’s a product like the NARS Multiples, where it can also be used as an eye and lip colour. Fantastic.
