The pan design of the blush looks lovely! 🙂
Man, the blush looks pretty but everything else is disappointing, especially that blue eyeshadow!
The blush color is pretty but ouchie at $70. Love Shipshape (orange) but looks dupe-able. Yikes, the blue shadow looks awful, will need glitter glue for sure. Griffith Green is such a unique color, mix of gray-green- blue with shimmers, but not sure about performance. Christine, is the left swatch heavy and the right one sheered out?
The left is swatched, the right is blended out.
So if I pack it on and don’t blend, I should be good, hmmm….. I sure hope Chanel doesn’t break my heart with this one
The blush is expensive but so worth it!!! It’s gorgeous!!!
Everything looked so beautiful… But these swatches look terrible, specially the Illusion d’ombre… And the colours of the lipsticks are inspiring but rouge coco shines are too sheer…
I bought that blush last week. Something about it was just calling my name. I’ve only worn it once. It’s lovely but I really wish Chanel didn’t put fragrance in the makeup.
Oh yikes, thanks for the heads up. Fragrance alone would cause my cheeks to turn red, won’t even need the Chanel blush to do it. Money saved
It is super pefrumy smelling. It didn’t make my cheeks itch or burn and I’m super sensitive. I can’t wear anything with argan oil or heavily scented either.
The blush looks really beautiful and very luminous! Griffith Green is also an interesting shade of muted teal. The other 2 Illusions d’Ombre don’t look so good imo, especially not Ocean Light. Too bad because it looked like a gorgeous vibrant blue in the pot!
Oh god, the blush… it’s beautiful.
I may have to actually drop $70 for a blush! OMG, that is insane! That is more than Tom ford. This better be good Chanel. I’m kinda glad the other products aren’t appealing to me because that blush sure is!
This blush is a work of art! Swoon worthy!!! ?
I’ll be very interested in hearing your take on these!
The blush is the only swatch I like the looks of. I really wish they’d made the lip colors more pigmented.
I passed on the blush because it’s quite pigmented on my fair skin, so I’d have to use a light hand. I didn’t like the colour at first because it was a bronzey coral on me, but it’s actually quite lovely. Also, the fragrance is a lot stronger than all my other Chanel products–I could smell it for a while after applying it.
Griffith Green is super pretty, so I might end up buying that, and I know Moonlight Pink looks boring (it sure did to me!), but on my skin, it was the prettiest pinky beige with a hint of peach. It also has pretty shimmer in it. It gave me that peaches and cream look, which is so my style, so I bought it.
I’m waiting to see how the rest of the collection reviews before picking up anything else.
I love the blush but I know it wouldn’t really work for me. Griffith Green, however, I might have to snag!
I just received the blush today. It retails in Canada for $57 (!!!) so I grabbed it while I’m here. Strangely, my compact has little scent however the tiny brush with its own velvet pouch seemed a tad scented. Maybe 5 days in the mail lessened the scent I have heard that some people are airing it out to minimize the scent. The compact is stunning and I can’t wait to try it on!
In Canada, this blush is available at Hudson Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart (where Chanel makeup is sold) and Nordstrom.
I swatched the blush this morning at Macy”s and it was lovely, but I just couldn’t at $70. One thing about it is that I baked a tart this afternoon, and after many, many hand washings, there is a distinct stain left by the swatch. Amazing lasting power!
I want to love this blush to pieces, but I just don’t. I don’t know why…maybe product overload lately. I can’t wait to see your review to find out about performance and dupes!
The blush is gorgeous! I may have to splurge and get it. Everything else is pitiful, though. I’ve never been overly impressed with the Rouge Coco Shine formula (some of the shades are really pretty, but the formula just isn’t my favorite), but those shades look pretty terrible. Patchy, lacking pigmentation, and not particularly shiny (IMO, anyway). And those Illusion d’Ombre swatches are just miserable looking. I don’t understand how a high-end brand can put out such terrible products. I mean, I understand a house brand like Sephora’s products winding up mediocre and I’ve come to expect it from drugstore brands, but when someone is paying Chanel’s prices, there is an expectation that they’re going to be getting a quality product.
Perhaps it’s just me, but I look to Chanel for things that are quintessentially French or at least European so I have zero interest in their take on a California sunrise theme or anything like that. Much of this looks under-pigmented and the Rouge Shines dupe-able from the drugstore (those look a lot like Revlon’s lip butters that sell for under 10 bucks even here in the Great White North).
The blush is lovely but doesn’t seem unique. Everything else is just insultingly bad for the prices they charge.
The blush looks very pretty.
I don’t much care for sheer lipsticks, I go for glosses if I want sheer.
Griffith Green is interesting, but the others, not so much, especially the swatches. I wonder if there were some kind of malfunction in the plant when they made the blue, surely it can’t be meant to be like this!
I was lucky to receive a 35 dollar gift card from Saks, so I bought the blush. I would not have bought it full price. I love the blush and the rosy scent. I bought Energy at Von Maur and it stained my lips nicely, sheer wash. I was not impressed with the eyeshadow pots. Wanted to try the Beverly Hills quad, but they told me it will appear late January.
I love the rosy scent of Chanel products too!
The blush is pretty, the swatches from the rest of the collection are underwhelming.
Oh oh – those swatches of the eye shadows look a little patchy to me – especially the blue. The Griffith Green is a beautiful colour – but I think it looks better damp – which is annoying to me.
The lipsticks are just meh too. Oh dear Chanel.
If that blush is anywhere between Chanel’s Rose Initiale and Malice, I might just have to pull the trigger. Chanel’s Joues Contraste is my absolute favorite blush formula. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the formula of this one is equally good.
I already ordered the blush, as it seems like the center of the collection and a collector’s piece . Also, I passed up on a couple Chanel LE highlighters/powders a few years ago and still regret it.
That is it for me unless one of your reviews earns an A+. Yes, it IS hard to believe that I would pass up a Chanel collection. but the whole darn collection does not read “Chanel” to me. I used to love those eye shadow pots, but they dry out before you hit pan. I have many Coco shines, but the sheer ones are not my favorites, and I dislike wearing rose scented cosmetics on my lips.
I’m loving Griffith Green!
Griffith Green is calling my name — it looks like a beautiful and unusual color. If its performance turns out to be good, it may be my first-ever Chanel purchase.
Those shadows are a joke.
If I had big dough, I’d go for the blush as a decorative item and air freshener! It’s so attractive. But having no sense of smell and numerous allergies would make that an insane pick for me. The shades are lovely, but look underperforming. Rouge Cocos are always pretty sheer, ST too sheer. Now, some of these Illusion formulas have been well reviewed by you. Maybe it’s just the curse of the blue shadows…. I rather like this color selection, esp. the complex green.
The collection is a bit meh and not great quality apart from the blush. They’d be interesting colours if they weren’t so patchy. I’m actually more interested in the Clinique Lid Pops even though others say they were dupeable and not so interesting. The Lid Pops look to me to be better value for money.
I’m totally obsessed with this blush, have been since I saw it a week or so ago. I think I’m going to try and get it, but $70 is pretty insane for a blush, so I wonder if I should keep it as a collectors item or use it? Aaaaah it’s almost too pretty to use.
The Harmonie de Blush is definitely a must-have — so pretty! However, the others’ quality is just plain disappointing….
That… BLUSH! Oh my gosh! <3
A very underwhelming collection for me. The blush is so very pretty in the pan and swatched, but I rarely wear coral blushes. WTF did they do with the illusion d’ombre formula?? Yikes.
I am confused by the promo pics on Chanel’s website as they show a purple shade on the eyes and even include purple in their description of the LA sky. Are they implying that you mix the blue and pink Illusion eyeshadow to get purple somehow? Because I don’t see that working at all! I think this collection requires an in store visit prior to my spending any $$ on it.
I got the blush. Its beautiful and brightens up my fair complexion without me looking like I overdid it on blush. Is it worth it? Yes..I also use a few of the ribbons as an eyeshadow as well. The beige tone in the ribbon is gorgeous.
Huh, I’m very surprised by the cream eyeshadow swatches. The testers they had at my local Nordstroms were quite opaque – especially the blue – and so were the eyeliners. (It could be a bad batch, but inconsistency from a high end brand almost seems worse than just poor quality in general!)
I bought mine from Neiman Marcus, and it shipped in 2 days, though I think they actually shipped from stores in CA.
The blush swatches more evenly than I’d thought it might. Pretty! And I like the Griffith Green shadow but the other two look like all sparkle, no colour, sadly.
