Chanel Ideale & Expressive Rouge Allure Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Ideale (22) Rouge Allure Gloss
Chanel Ideale (22) Rouge Allure Gloss ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, milky pink with warm, yellow undertones and fine light gold pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, but the lighter color paired with the glossier finish seemed to make it more prone in highlighting the lines of the lip, though the settling wasn’t quite as noticeable due to the opacity of the product. It wore well for four hours on me, and it was comfortable and hydrating while worn. Becca Guava/Opal (P, $24.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC Cream Pie (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). NARS Turkish Delight (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Please Me (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Bijou (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Too Faced Peach Fuzz (P, $19.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Bite Beauty Six (Watercolor) (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Unlaced (P, $26.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Just Superb (P, $20.00) is darker (85% similar). NYX Maple Blondie (P, $5.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). NYX Sorbet (P, $5.99) is less shimmery, darker, brighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Expressive (24) Rouge Allure Gloss ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a softened, medium-dark pinky plum with warm undertones and fine orange-gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a creamy, lightweight consistency that was comfortable to wear and hydrating over time. The color could have applied a bit smoother, though. It was slightly tacky after an hour or so of wear, but it was never heavy or really sticky. This shade wore well for five hours on me. Marc Jacobs Beauty Fame (206) (DC, $28.00) is less shimmery, darker, brighter (90% similar). Pat McGrath Flesh 4 (P, $30.00) is more muted, less pigmented (90% similar). NARS Corsica (LE, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). Maybelline Lust for Mauve (535) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Éphélide (LE, $26.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). NARS Baroque (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, warmer, less glossy (85% similar). Make Up For Ever 405P Pearly Plum (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Tolerance (LE, $20.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Maybelline Intoxicating Spice (070) (P, $8.99) is warmer (85% similar). YSL Devour Me Plum (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). Chanel Audace (20) (LE, $34.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Lancome Molten Magenta (13) (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (80% similar). Dior Ruby Essence (778) (LE, $30.00) is darker, more muted (80% similar). Bobbi Brown Aubergine (P, $24.00) is darker, more muted, less pigmented (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Meh..I never have heard of these! But, I’m not wowed. For that price, I need a better grade and a gasp upon sight. I think I have better in my stash.
They came out with the formula a couple of years ago now, I think, but it doesn’t get too many new shades added so it would be easy to miss!
I feel like there’s nothing exceptional about these shades. Definitely not worth a Chanel price tag for me.
Totally understand!
These *look* very nice, but $34 for a lip GLOSS? I don’t think I’m jumping on that! For a great lipSTICK, yes, definitely. If I ever went up that HE for a gloss, however, it would need an A grade and be a “must-have” shade for me. But there is a beautiful dupe for the one shade I love here: Expressive has MUFE Pearly Plum! ?
Yay for dupes 🙂
Ideale would make me look sick, but Expressive looks pretty!
Glad you liked one, Katherine!
I like the shimmer in both, but I prefere Expressive. I will try to find one of the Maybelline dupes. Most of the time I don’t think glosses are that much better from a high end company, and I eat mine very quickly, so might as well eat budget glosses 🙂
Expressive is definitely the better performer!
Expressive is a nice everyday color that seems pretty universally flattering! I wonder how it would pair with my darker lip shade!
It is easy to wear!
In person Expressive is a darker shade and quite nice for Fall actually.
Glad you could check it out in person, Ra!
