ColourPop Thumper Super Shock Cheek
ColourPop Swift Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “rich deep warm brown in a matte finish.” It’s a medium-dark, reddish brown with warm, red-orange undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff, though not fully opaque, when applied with a fingertip, while brush application yielded semi-sheer payoff. The texture was a little drier, which seemed to make it harder to get that really opaque, intense color out of it, but luckily, it didn’t impact the application, as it was still easily blended on the skin. It lasted for eight and a half hours on me. MAC Sweet As Cocoa (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker. Chanel Canaille (89) (LE, $45.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Stylish Me (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery. ColourPop Happy Hour (P, $8.00) is brighter, warmer, less pigmented, more muted, darker. Charlotte Tilbury Formentera (P, $45.00) is darker. Becca Blushed Copper (LE, $38.00) is less shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
ColourPop Thumper Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone true blue pink in a matte finish.” It’s a brightened, light-medium pink with cool, blue undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, velvety texture that was blendable on the skin. It wore well for eight hours on me. NARS Mistinguette (LE, $30.00) is lighter, brighter. theBalm Down Boy (P, $21.00) is darker, warmer. NARS Gaiety (P, $30.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler. MAC I’m the One (LE, $21.00) is darker. NARS Roman Holiday (LE, $30.00) is darker. MAC I’m a Lover (P, $23.50) is more shimmery, lighter. Milani Delizioso Pink (10) (P, $7.99) is darker. Surratt Beauty Guimauve (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, lighter. ColourPop Mochi (P, $8.00) is cooler. Urban Decay Quickie (P, $26.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Obsessed (P, $26.00) is . Clinique Pansy Pop (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
ColourPop Trickery Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “soft pastel true peach in a satin finish.” It’s a light-medium peach with faint gold shimmer and warm undertones. It had mostly opaque color payoff when applied with fingertips with more semi-sheer, buildable coverage when used with a brush. The texture was lightweight, velvety, and smooth, which made it a cinch to apply as it blended out nicely. I didn’t notice the shimmer translate into a real sheen or frost on the skin, though in a magnifying mirror, I can see a few bits of the shimmer there. The color lasted for seven and a half hours before fading. NYX Soft Spoken (P, $6.50) is more shimmery, lighter. Dior Peach Splendor (LE, $44.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Fun Ending (LE, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Corol #1 (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, warmer. Urban Decay Score (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter. MAC Alpha Girl (LE, $26.00) is . I’m hopeing i can pull off Trickery but I’m worried it might lean to orange on me.
Keep me posted 🙂
I have Thumper and it’s so pretty! I like how Colour Pop has a good selection of blushes for different skintones
Swift really reminds me of some Guerlain Terracotta swatches that I saw online. And Swift is matte (and only $8!!) , so could be bronzer for medium to darker skintones
Me too! I think it’s great that so far when they launch cheek products, it seems like they pay attention to providing more options for multiple skin tones.
Thumper isn’t something I normally go for but it looks great on you!
Thanks, Erin!
Another interesting post as I’ve not had the energy to play with these yet! But I’m happy about them! It’s amazing how products show a totally different color on every skin-tone/color. I love that stuff!!:D
Have you had a chance to play yet?
Thumper is my favorite of these three, though I like Trickery, too. Swift is way, way too dark for a vampire like me, but I bet that warm cherry will be gorgeous on WOC.
I bet Trickery is great on your skin tone, Rachel!
Thank you. I think it would be, too.
Swift is something that I think might look really good on my med. olive toned complexion! It looks so rich! And Thumper is *perhaps* the one not-so-deep cooler pink that I could pull off. But Trickery I’ll leave for the fairer/ lighter toned peeps!
Trickery is sooo pretty in the pan, but like you, not really a shade for me, lol!
Swift and Thumper just got added to my ever expanding ColourPop cart! I have been wanting Chanel’s Canaille. Glad this is a much more affordable dupe in a formula that I love. I forgot to mention in my haul yesterday that I got a few of the bronzers and Chipper. I love the bronzers! I just think maybe that texture with the ease of almost the powder format is great for my combo-dry skin. Maybe I need to consider switching to cream products mostly.
Hopefully Swift is close enough to Canaille for ya! 😉
Cream-type formulas can be really forgiving on drier skin types! I’m mostly normal with a drier nose/cheeks!
My t zone gets shiny. But, I still am using rich creams in 80+ degree weather! So, I have been setting that with les violettes or UD and the rest with nothing or a light dusting of finishing powder and a spray. I used a regular blush (instead of colourPop ) the other day. I felt like my skin looked crinkly compared to ColourPop. I don’t even know where to start with creams other than ColouPop! Oh no! haha!
Trickery looks beautiful. Might be something to look out for if I can get it here. How do you think it would fair on NW05 skin (approx)?
I think it would work for NW05!
I have Trickery. To me, the color is a richer peach- pink than this picture shows. I am fair skinned/ neutral and Trickery is a lovely color with peach / pink lipstick. You can build the color. Since I have white hair, I need a soft color to brighten up my face. This is a great choice.
You’re so lucky to wear it as well! I’m too dark for it.
Hi Christine, what is the pale nude lipstick your wearing in the last photo? I love a pale nude lip and I’m lighter in skin tone than you are so I think that one might suit me!
On face: Guerlain Parure Gold Foundation, Urban Decay Naked Loose Setting Powder. On eyes: ColourPop Flux, Beauty Call, Taco, Snapdragon, Truth Super Shock Shadows; L’Oreal True Teal Eyeliner. On lips: Bite Beauty Pecan Lipstick (I think!).
Aw, what an adorable sweet shade Trickery is! <3 I'd probably pair it with a different lipstick though, to avoid everything looking too overly peachy and flat.
It is a nice peach!
Hi Christine!
What brush are you using with the Colour Pop blushes/bronzers/highlighters? I’m using a synthetic angled blush brush but I get very little color payoff. Yours looks fantastic!
I use MAC’s 159!
So Trickery is more of a matte finish? I was afraid it would be chalky, but no?
Nope, not chalky on me!
Hi Christine!
I just wanted to let you know that in Thumper’s description, it says Colourpop’s Mochi is cooler. But then when I go and look at Mochi’s description, it says Thumper is cooler. So I’m not sure which one is actually cooler, but just wanted to mention it 🙂 Going to keep looking through your posts to decide what I’d like to try since there are so many options! Thanks for all your hard work!
