Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick
Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick — Mademoiselle, Maggy, Dimitri

Chanel Mademoiselle (434) Rouge Coco Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “warm rosewood.” It’s a muted, medium-dark rosy pink with warm, plummy brown undertones and a soft shimmer finish that’s lightly luminous. It had mostly opaque color coverage with a slightly thicker consistency compared to other shades in the formula. It was comfortable to wear over the four hours it lasted, and it was slightly hydrating. Marc Jacobs Beauty Eat Cake (150) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery. Surratt Beauty Perfectionniste (P, $34.00) is cooler-toned, less shimmery. Too Faced Metallic Tu-tu (P, $21.00) is more shimmery. Chanel Suzanne (438) (P, $36.00) is darker. Bite Beauty Rosewood (P, $28.00) is darker. MAC Marque (P, $23.00) is darker, warmer shimmer. Buxom Dolly (LE, $21.00) is similar. MAC Moody Bloom (LE, $17.00) has warmer shimmer. MAC Mystical (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery. Estee Lauder Irresistible (P, $30.00) is less shimmery. Urban Decay Strip (P, $22.00) is darker, less shimmery. Chanel Ce Soir (P, $34.00) is darker, brighter, less shimmery. Revlon Pink Truffle (P, $7.49) is sheerer, darker. Guerlain Garance (P, $51.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Chanel Maggy (436) Rouge Coco Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “shimmering rosewood.” It’s a muted, medium-dark pink-plum with warmer, gold shimmer. It had semi-sheer color payoff that covered evenly but had a noticeable translucency so the natural lip color will come through quite a bit, which can alter the shade significantly depending on your natural lip color. It lasted for three hours on me and was lightly hydrating. Tom Ford Beauty Rose Soleil (P, $50.00) is warmer, sheerer. Chanel Suzanne (438) (P, $36.00) is less shimmery. Bite Beauty Rosewood (P, $28.00) is less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Collin (LE, $32.00) is cooler-toned. Chanel Aura (96) (P, $35.00) is cooler-toned, darker, less shimmery. MAC Moody Bloom (LE, $17.00) is slightly warmer. Chanel Irresistible (62) (LE, $34.00) is lighter, cooler-toned. Bite Beauty Rhubarb (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, warmer. MAC Oh, Oh, Oh (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Chanel Dimitri (442) Rouge Coco Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “pink red.” It’s a brightened, medium red with subtly cool, pink tones and a luminous finish. On me, it tends to read warmer, though it is cool-toned to neutral-toned (it’s particularly apparent when swatched or viewed next to warmer reds). It had mostly opaque pigmentation that went on evenly and looked smooth on the lips. It wore well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time. Too Faced Melted Strawberry (P, $21.00) is slightly brighter. Tom Ford Beauty Luciano (LE, $32.00) is darker. Revlon 5th Ave. Red (LE, $7.99) is darker. Revlon Flirtatious (125) (P, $8.99) is pinker. MAC Red Necessity (LE, $20.00) is pinker. Dior Minuit (LE, $36.00) is pinker, more matte. Urban Decay 69 (P, $22.00) is darker. Maybelline On Fire Red (P, $7.49) is darker. MAC Love Goddess (LE, $16.00) is pinker, more matte. Buxom Scoundrel (P, $21.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

These are all pretty. But nothing too unique for me. I am not really finding that I love this formula personally. I like it for a sheer throw-on lipstick. But the wear-time can annoy me.Plus, I think it is a little over priced for that. I am not sure if I will be purchasing more than the 2 I have.

Mademoiselle and Maggy look lovely on you. I don’t care for this formula at all, though, I find that it dries out my lips and fades quickly. I’ve been tempted by some of the colors but can’t get past the lackluster performance.

Mademoiselle is my only Chanel lipstick and it’s what I wear when I want to play grown ups (maybe once a month haha). I quite like the rouge coco formula, but I know there are better ones out there.

Mademoiselle and Maggy are both gorgeous shades. But then I saw *why* I loved Mademoiselle so much….it’s practically a dead-ringer for my MAC Marque! I probably wouldn’t buy Maggy either, but that’s because of the wear time and that it needs to work better for that many $$’s, so I’ll see about buying a dupe.

Mademoiselle is one of my favourite lipsticks! I bought it because it was the colour worn by Vanessa Paradis in the initial campaign for the Rouge Cocos. Pretty sure I still have the ad from a magazine lol. It was that gorgeous. On my fair skin it actually looks quite a bit deeper, I usually like it for fall. You’ve inspired me to try it in spring!

Boy, I really like Dimitri but I do not need 20 red lipsticks. I like the shimmer in maggy, it’s close to my natural color, and I love the idea of a ‘shimmer nude’ lipstick

OMG this line has such pretty shades!!! 🙂

Maggy is a beautiful shade, but I’m afraid it might be too similar to MACs Capriscious (I have that one already and love it lol)… :\

Ps: I’m the biggest fan of your blog! Hahaha 🙂
