Chanel Terrana, Mediterranee, Coquelicot, Lavanda Le Vernis Nail Colours Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Mediterranee, Coquelicot, Lavanda, Terrana Le Vernis
Chanel Terrana (697) Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a smoky, taupe-brown with very fine, pearly shimmer in bronze and pink. It was mostly opaque after two coats, though I’d recommend a slightly thicker second coat to ensure full opacity (I went with two thin coats on my pinky nail, and there’s some visible nail line coming through). The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and it flowed evenly across the nail without pooling along the edges. It lasted for seven with days with minor tip wear (no base or top coat), which is average for me. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Mediterranee (707) Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark blue with a hint of green that gives it a slightly “warm” undertone. There was a very, very faint hint of nail line coming through at times, but it was difficult to detect under most lighting conditions. The polish was slightly thick, but it didn’t pool along the edges and applied evenly and smoothly overall. This was the other shade I tested for wear specifically, and it lasted for seven days with minor tip wear, which is average for me and what my experience has been with Chanel’s formula over the years. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Coquelicot (717) Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a vibrant, orange-based red with warm undertones and a cream finish. It was intensely pigmented; a single coat was very nearly opaque (see pinky nail), but two coats gave it a much richer, lusher look as the texture seemed shinier and plusher. It wasn’t too thick or too thin, and it applied beautifully. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Chanel Lavanda (727) Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a deepened, royal purple with subtle, cool undertones and a cream finish. This one applied a bit unevenly for me, and it was more semi-opaque after two coats. When it dried down, the resulting finish wasn’t as glossy/shiny as the other three were. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I can’t wear nail polish but I always adored Chanel’s formula and still drool when I see them! That purple is so beautiful! (It seems uniquely dark yet bright and cool toned & I’d totally wear it!) 🙂
Ever since I missed out on Jade, it’s hard for me not to buy them, even though I’ve tried to reduce how much polish I buy (I just don’t have time to review them so much) and tend to cave!
Aww, oh, no! You missed ONE? That must be excuses tingly painful! Hahaha! 😛 Wonderful way to excuse HAVING to but then all! I love how you enable yourself. You’re as bad as me! But.. I can’t wear nail polish so you’ve got me here! *Tiny violin playing sad song for lost Jade..) 😉
Yep! The one that got away. I wasn’t super into polish, and I think I was still in undergrad, so at the time, one didn’t buy all the things.
I like the color of Terrana
Me too! A very vampy set for summer.
Méditerannée looks so pretty! Very beachy and summery!
It is!
Glad you picked these up to review Christine. I love all of them and found application to be awesome. Lavanda does need 3 thin coats (nature of a jelly polish) and dries a bit satin (nature of the pigment used to give that bright purple). You rarely see colors this bright from Chanel that aren’t red. If they do a bold hue, it’s usually pastel or vampy.
Thanks for the insight, Jennifer! 😀
The dark brown is gorgeous, reminds me of the brown lipplies that were in fashion from ’90s, but it’s more of a fall/winter color for me. The orange red is really beautiful, of course but dupe-able. My fave is the Teal – whenever I look at it, I want to book a cruise to the carribean!! As for the purple, I already ordered the purple eye liner from this collection (Orchidee)–it’s my first Chanel purchase, can you believe it? I don’t wear teal or purple nail polish often enough to justify this price tag , so I’ll be prowling around the drugstore aisles looking for dupes
How cool that your first Chanel purchase is a purple eyeliner 😀
I have enough brown and black eyeliners to last me a lifetime, so if I’m going to spend $32 buck on one, it better be a pretty unique shade. I’ve been on a purple lipstick /blush kick recently, and as soon as I saw Orchidee, I knew it would go with many of them, plus it will make my brown eyes pop….see how I talk myself into trouble 🙂
Katherine, I have just about everything so far from the collection beside the liner and love it all! I have been on the fence on the liner. I’d love to know what you think of it if you don’t mind filling me in. I keep talking myself out of it because I have so many other purple liners. 🙂
No problem Nicole! Mine is coming this week, so as soon as I get it, I will let you know!
Thank you Katherine! I read your comment above . I bet this will look amazing with your eyes and I wear purple liner all year. I have hazel eyes and I have other purple liners But,i don’t have any quite this unique shade of purple that I can thtink of off hand. I swatched it in store . I’ve been thinking about taking all my purple liners with me to the counter if Christine doesn’t review it,lol! $32 is so steep ( I cringe at $25 for Marc Jacobs) but is pretty for sure! So,yes I would love to know your opinion mostly on the texture and wear on the eye. I have never owned a Chanel liner either.
Still love my buys of Terrana and Lavana! What base and top coat do you use?
In the photos, none! I also test without any, but should I wear polish for fun only, then I might use Zoya Anchor + Armor, but honestly, I get long wear out of most formulas that I usually skip.
As a blue nail person, I love the turquoise, but Lavanda packs a good visual punch too.
I liked how it was bright but still deeper.
Ok. I have never bough a HE cosmetic company polish. The most I normally pay is OPI/Orly,etc. rates. I am wondering what is the difference once you venture into this realm. Do they last super long? Apply easier? I used to religiously get my toes and nails done. But,once it started getting to close to $100 a pop for gel polish and pedicure every 2 weeks, I decided it should be for special occasions and am now doing it myself. Mostly, my my nails don’t have paint on them too much, lol. Just wondering if this price range of polish in general is “worth it”
If you get good wear out of polishes at under $10, I don’t think you’re going to find that higher end polish applies better or wears longer. I think, like most things, you’ll find that some apply better or wear longer, but really substantially better or longer. The longest-wearing formulas I’ve tried are mid to high-end (Illamasqua, Guerlain are two) and I get closer to 14 days with minor tip wear, but on me, most polish lasts at least 7 days with minimal effort (no base or top coat). For some, Chanel polish chips in a couple of days.
I only think they’re “worth it” when they’re interesting or more unique, but polish is so expansive that you can probably find a dupe at any price point.
I don’t get ” good” wear out of any polish but gel which I really don’t like because I find the color selection a bore and removal tedious. Plus it has to be damaging to the nail . OPI and the like, I average 2-3 days with good luck. Guerlain or Illamasqua may be worth checking out. Maybe I would actually paint my nails other than for ” special occasions” . Thanks!
You might try one, and if it doesn’t give you better wear, stick to the lower-end! Zoya wears really nicely for me, and they’re $10 I think now. Sometimes it can also just be the top/base coat you use – some people get better wear out of one combo than another, or some work better with the color formula than others.
OMG. That teal, the purple and orange-red, though! Thing is, that when it comes to n.p., I rarely go over $8 or $9 at max. I don’t think I’d spend $27 unless I was going to use it constantly, and I never use the same shade even twice in a row, lol! Luckily, I have great dupes for the teal and the orange-red, but so far, not a royal purple like this one!
You must have a lot of polish 😉
I do, LoL! When I got all over my son’s case because he was constantly buying more and more baseball cards to add to his 10,000+ card collection, he called me out, saying “Mom…(opens large drawer and a large shoebox), and you say I’m an addict??? There has got to be at least, what, 60? 70? More? Nail polishes here? My cards have resale and trade value, but these? I don’t think so.” He was lighthearted and saying it laughing, not in a disrespectful tone, but still…
I didn’t think I’d like it, but my favourite of these is Terrana. It’s so tempting to just pass a Chanel counter and just happen to buy it 🙂 But I must stand firm after my haul this week. I am, after all on a no buy when it comes to make up (and magazines and clothes).
You can resist 🙂
I thought Terrana was the only LE, and the other three were joining the Permanent collection. No?
I don’t have a press release, so I am only able to go off of Chanel’s website, which listed all four of them as limited edition!
Lavanda and Terrana are gorgeous! I don’t paint my nails too often, but these colors are tempting! 🙂
They’re pretty!
I want the lavanda color,) chanel nail limited edition nail polish colors are always so special, my favorite so far was black pearl (Sadly they discontinued it) .
They do some pretty LEs!
Ooo I love Mediterranee! It’s such a pretty color. Reminds me of a beach
It’s perfect for summer!
These don’t scream summer to me. Except for the teal, but even that shade isn’t as bright and light as I like my blues in the summer.
Easy skip! 🙂
I wouldn’t even give A- for Terrana. I think Chanel nail polish quality level significantly reduced from the last collection…
What problems did you have Terrana? I was more impressed by the summer polishes than recent releases myself, lol!
