MAC Permanent Press Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio
MAC Permanent Press Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio ($27.50 for 0.07 oz.) is a mix of muted white, brown, and taupe. I liked that the darkest shade had less sparkle/shimmer, which enables the trio to have more depth when used as a trio. Unfortunately, that darker shade was a little more difficult to blend compared to the other two more shimmery shades. The color payoff ranges from sheer to mostly opaque, depending on whether you use it dry or wet, which is as described. All three eyeshadows wore for eight hours on me, regardless of whether I used them dry or wet.
Permanent Press #1 is described as a “white beige.” It’s a cool-toned, subdued white with a frosted, slightly metallic finish. Applied dry, it was sheer, while damp application was semi-opaque. The color was buildable to full coverage when used damp and layered. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable, and the eyeshadow wore well for eight hours before fading. YSL Eau d’Argent (02) (P, $30.00) is a cream. ColourPop Acorn (LE, $5.00) is less shimmery. Chanel L’Intemporel de Chanel #5 (LE) is less shimmery. Guerlain Les Nuees #2 (LE) is brighter. ColourPop Tassel (P, $5.00) is lighter. Guerlain Cygne Blanc #2 (LE) is lighter. Make Up For Ever ME122 Snow (P, $21.00) is lighter. Chanel Tisse Camelia #2 (P) is less shimmery. LORAC Snow (P) is lighter. MAC A Waft of Grey #1 (P, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Smoked Cocoa #1 (LE, $16.00) is similar. MAC Pearl (LE, $32.50) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Permanent Press #2 is described as a “calm brown-bronze.” It’s a muted, medium brown with a warm, golden metallic sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation when applied dry, and it was mostly opaque when applied with a damp brush. The texture became more metallic when it was applied damp, though it was smooth and buildable with both methods. On me, the color wore well for eight hours before fading slightly. Giorgio Armani Cold Copper (09) (P, $38.00) is a cream. Burberry Nude (No. 002) (P, $29.00) is darker. Laura Mercier Topaz (P) is darker. MAC English Gilt (LE, $21.00) is more metallic. LORAC Smokey Topaz (LE) is darker. Ardency Inn Vintage Gold (P, $21.00) is darker, less shimmery. NARS Himalia (P, $29.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Crushed Clove (P, $16.00) is similar. Sleek MakeUP Court in Cannes (LE, $9.99) is warmer. MAC Cactus Thorn (LE, $16.00) is darker, less shimmery. bareMinerals A-Ha (P) is similar. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Permanent Press #3 is described as a “black with gold pearl.” It’s a medium-dark, taupe-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satiny sheen with faint shimmer. It had sheer coverage applied dry, while damp application yielded opaque results. The texture of this was a little stiffer, and it wasn’t as easily blended as the other two shades. Once on, though, the color didn’t start to fade until after eight hours of wear. Chanel Tisse Rhapsodie #4 (LE) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #08 (P, $32.00) is less shimmery. Chanel Tisse Gabrielle #4 (P) is lighter. MAC Just Before Dawn (LE, $21.00) is lighter. MAC 2x Dare #5 (LE) is more sparkly. MAC Keep Your Cool (DC, $21.00) is cooler-toned. bareMinerals Wanderlust (P) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I just got this one yesterday and I’m wearing it for the first time today. Really liking it so far! That middle shade is really pretty and it pairs really well with the other two shades. Applies well too and seems to stay put well.
Happy to hear you’re enjoying this one! 🙂
Now this one, I like. The top shade is a lot frostier than I like for a browbone highlight but would be lovely as an inner corner/tearduct highlight. And, not surprisingly, as these are the sorts of colours I always fall for, I have dupes of all of the (several dupes for each of the 3 shades!) so I’ll pass on this. But for someone with a smaller collection, this would be a really handy trio to have.
Yeah, it is pretty stark as a highlighter, IMO! It will work for the inner corner well.
Dupeable in my stash, but it is a really nice combination.
I agree – the combo works well!
I don’t buy MAC any longer, but I must admit I like the looks of this trio, especially shades #1 and #3.
However, I already own “Keep Your Cool,” which most likely suits me better.
and #1 looks pretty dupe-able.
#2 is probably just too warm for me.
It’s not as if I don’t already have in excess of 70 wonderful eyeshadows, anyhow! 🙂
Glad you have some dupes for it 😀
The trios in this collection turned out to be really cute! I’m glad they seem to perform well too. I’m usually not a fan of Veluxe Pearlfusion formula but I’m actually tempted this time around
Yayy!
Wow, this is very pretty!
It’s a good mix of colors!
This one I think I am considering getting if I can get it. I don’t travel a ton. But,i. Have some business trips coming up and I only want to pack a carry on . For me,that’s a lofty goal! Palettes like this are perfect and maybe add a single matte .I like the way you punch it up with color. So,i could just pack a few different pencils to take it into dinners and evenings. Yeah,it went on my short list for this collection! Thanks for hanging with this not so promising collection.
One of my favorite ways to add color is eyeliner, and it can definitely change up a look a LOT 🙂 Same with a bolder lip!
This is quite pretty. I love sparkly nudes and browns. I wouldn’t buy it though, because I got the MUFE palette for my fix.
I enjoy using the MUFE ones so much more!
Of very, very dupable colours I am pleased to see that the quality is back there….
At least there is some quality, finally!
These colors are much more my speed.
Yayy!
This is a pretty little trio, I must say. I’m generally not interested in MAC palettes of any kind, but this one seems nice.
The overall eye look doesn’t seem like it matches the swatches, looks more like the third palette.
I used two of the trios together, Maria! Read the caption for the photo and you’ll see where I used each! 🙂
ahh yes, reading is fundamental, eh. Adding the 3rd palette does add flavor.
The orange-y palette was a bit light on its own, so I needed the contrast of the second one!
