Tom Ford Naked Bronze Cream & Powder Eye Color Review, Photos, Swatches
Tom Ford Naked Bronze Cream & Powder Eye Color
Tom Ford Naked Bronze Cream & Powder Eye Color ($60.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a mix of glittering gold and warm, coppery bronze, which you may know as Spice (previously released on its own). When the gold eyeshadow is patted over the bronze cream eyeshadow, you get a lighter, more sparkly bronze that has a more subdued red undertone. They work well together as shades side-by-side or layered. The formula of the sparkly eyeshadow suffers from some fall out during wear, and it could be a bit more pigmented in its base color, while the cream eyeshadow is fantastic with rich color payoff and a smooth, blendable, long-wearing formula.
Naked Bronze (Eye Color) is a subdued, light-medium dirty gold with lighter champagne gold sparkle and flecks of glitter. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with plenty of sparkle that actually transferred to the lid with minimal fall out as the texture was thin, almost cream-like, and held together well. This type of texture really helps the sparkly bits to bind with the colored powder and then stick to the lid. I did see some fall out over time while I wore it, though. The color lasted well for nine hours before creasing slightly. Tom Ford Beauty Pink Glow #2 (LE) is lighter. Urban Decay Disco (LE, $18.00) is less sparkly. Makeup Geek Magic Act (P, $9.99) is less sparkly. ColourPop Get Lucky (P, $5.00) is darker, less sparkly. Chanel Rêve d’Orient #3 (LE) is less sparkly. Too Faced Honey Pot (LE, $16.00) is less sparkly. Sleek MakeUP Gold Souk (LE, $9.99) is very similar. Dior Golden Snow #2 (LE) is more sparkly. MAC Retrospeck (P, $16.00) is sheerer. Chanel Vision (LE, $36.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Spice is a medium-dark, copper bronze with warm, red undertones and a pearly sheen. It was intensely pigmented; a little goes quite a way, so I highly recommend using less than you think and then building if you end up needing more. If you want a sheerer wash of color, I would apply to the center of the area with a tiny amount, then blend and diffuse to a sheerer layer. I think it is easy to wear it totally opaque or sheer it out, but as it is quite pigmented, it is easier to wear it opaque. On me, it wears for nine and a half hours before creasing (actually, it wore a little longer than the last time I tested it–by a half hour). MAC Bao Bao’s Jewels #3 (LE) is powder, lighter. ColourPop Deluxe (P, $5.00) is less shimmery. ColourPop On the Rocks (P, $5.00) is less red-toned. Kat Von D Depeche (LE) is a powder. MAC Mortal #4 (LE) is lighter, powder. Make Up For Ever ME654 Cauldron (P, $21.00) is a powder. Make Up For Ever I662 Amber Brown (P, $21.00) is lighter, powder. Make Up For Ever I634 Praline (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, powder. Urban Decay Smog (P, $18.00) is a powder. Urban Decay Baked (P, $18.00) is a powder. Inglot #405 (P, $6.00) is a powder. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I really like this packaging concept and color pairing! Seems like one to add to my wishlist.
They did end up working well together!
Very pretty! But too $$$ for what are very dupeable shades:) Also bummed about the plastic packaging!
The glass pot would feel more luxurious!
I am interested in the cream color since I don’t see many dupes of such a color in cream form. But I don’t care much for the powder simply becauseI have one sparkly brown eyeshadow (from bobbi brown) and I don’t need another one, because frankly, while they are pretty the effect of such shadows on eyes does not vary much on me as I am a medium tan-ish color.
On another note, I have a bit of a suggestion for the website: you know the part in the comment section that say “login to comment”? when you login using that link you are directed to the very home of the blog, while I think it would be more useful to be directed to the comments section of that particular post (hope that made sense). Of course, I have to say that you do have a wonderful website already!
Hi Aditi,
We are working on something like that, but it’s a lot more complicated – and we are pretty much buried under a redo of the entire site first. Thank you for understanding!
Oh in that case don’t worry! Like I said I’m loving this layout already:)
I think it is on our to-do somewhere 🙂
This is pretty but I can’t spend 60 bucks on it.
I can understand that! 🙂
Jazz, I feel the same way and also Tom Ford isn’t available locally for me, either. So I’m hoping I have dupes of the 2 sets I really like.
Christine, will you be reviewing the Black Oyster shade of the Tom Ford cream and powder eye color as well??
Hi Liz,
Yes – as I mentioned in the sneak peek, I will post full reviews, photos, swatches, dupes, etc. as per a regular post as soon as I have finished testing and am able to write-up the review. Thank you for your patience!
Liz, I think Christine is saving the best for last! The 2 sets I’m lemming are Black Oyster and also the other one with the teal and taupey grey shadows.
The color of that cream eyeshadow would make any eye color sing.
I agree!
Oh, that’s pretty! I’ll be duping.
Luckily, it’s fairly dupable!
Love it. Want. Gorgeous photos too.
Thank you! 🙂
Hi
Christine,
Is this the eyeshadow the model is wearing in the promo pic?
I so appreciate all the work you do on your blog.
Take care, Marisa
Here is what the model is wearing:
Intensive Infusion Ultra Rich Moisturizer/Illuminating Primer
Traceless Foundation SPF 15
Concealing Pen
Shade and Illuminate
Brow Sculptor in Taupe
Cream and Powder Eye Color in Naked Bronze
Cream: brush along lash line, over the lid and underneath the eye, blend up towards the brow
Powder shade: apply to inner corner of eye and over lid
Eye Defining Pencil in Metallic Mink
Extreme Mascara in Raven
Lip Color Sheer in Skinnydip
Cream Cheek Color in Pink Sand

Shimmering Body Oil on body
This is pretty much the epitome of the style of eye I go for, especially for summer. I’m in.
Enjoy, Wendy 😀
So, if you could splurge on just one of these duos, Chistine, which would it be?
Probably the one with Pink Haze, but really, I would go with whatever one you’d wear the most.
I’m pretty excite for this one. I missed out on Spice the first time. It looks gorgeous and pretty versatile.
Yayyy!
Oh Christine I’m so excited! I love Tom Ford’s colors but hate tom Ford’s prices, which is why I love, again, ColourPop! I’ve already ordered both dupes an am just waiting for them to come in. I also ordered their new quad! Your eyes look gorgeous, and I can’t wait to dupe your look! I think I might add a lil green to the outer crease and under eye…olive gold pencil by NYX I believe for nights out!!! I’m having so much fun with my new eyes!!!! Will you review ColourPops newest gold hued quad? I’d love to see your looks. Thanks for everything!!!
ColourPop’s timing is perfect! Lots of similar/close-enough (to save the $55) shades 🙂
Green would be great with these colors!
Hi Christine! This release of Spice looks lighter to me. Is that right? Thanks!
It’s exactly the same – see the photo where they are swatched side-by-side.
Love that colour Spice – it is so gorgeous and glamorous – I would wear a touch of dark green or teal with it. Beautiful on you Christine.
It would be gorgeous with green — what a great idea!
I wish it wasn’t so warm but it sure is pretty!
Aww!
I wasn’t sure if I’m going to pick up the peach, but I think I’m going to pick this up for sure. Pretty much already decided the second I noticed it was basically Spice repromoted. 😀
Yayyyyyy!
*swoon* Stunning duo!
The two work well together!
Hi Christine, do you think the cream colour could be used as eyeliner? For about a million years I’ve been searching for a replacement for my beloved Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer gel eyeliner. So annoyed they discontinued it!
I think it could be!
This is so so beautiful! I wanted Spice the first time around, but I don’t know how much I’ll use the duo together. It’s definitely one to think about though!
I look forward to seeing if you get it! 😀
im gonna go out on a limb here and just hold out in HOPES he makes these perm!! I don’t wanna spend $60 for the missed pink haze n spice to end up with those shadows I really don’t want.
Fingers crossed!
This is beautiful, but because I have MAC Retrospeck, UD Smog & Half Baked, I have to pass. Not to mention the majority of the Majority of the Color Tattoo line and many of the MAC Paint Pots, so I am really set. It would have to be really unusual for me to jump.
Beautiful look as always though!
You’re covered 🙂
