Tom Ford Terra Bronzing Powder Review, Photos, Swatches

Tom Ford Terra Bronzing Powder
Tom Ford Terra Bronzing Powder

Tom Ford Terra Bronzing Powder ($65.00 for 0.29 oz. or $95.00 for 0.75 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark brown with subtle, warm reddish undertones and a mostly matte finish. Dolce and Gabbana Desert (P, $51.00) is lighter. MAC Matte Bronze (LE, $70.00) is similar. Tarte Park Ave. Princess #2 (LE) is similar. MAC Aphrodite’s Shell (LE, $33.00) is lighter. NARS Laguna (P, $36.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

The texture is very silky and smooth–it’s almost like a cream, because the powder clings to itself as you brush it off of the pan’s surface. It had semi-opaque color coverage that was buildable to mostly full coverage with two layers of product, if desired. It is extremely easily blended on the skin, and the finish isn’t fully matte, so it doesn’t appear dull or flat on the skin, but it isn’t shimmery or luminous either. It’s more of a “natural matte,” if that makes sense. The bronzing powder wore well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly on my skin.

I could see how these could complement one another if you are big on bronzers. I would probably wear this one the most. But, since my curiosity is making me nuts and they are offering the smaller sizes, I think I’m going to try both in the “clutch” size.I do like the bit of red tinge vs orange. I used to have a loose bare minerals bronzer that had a bit of red. Wayne Goss raved about it at the time. it supposedly gave you a more natural looking bronzed effect.

On the two pans above your picture, which is Terra and which is Gold Dust? One is distinctively more orange and one is more pink. I have the Tom Ford Bronzer that he did for Estee Lauder one summer before he debuted his own collection. I bought all the lipsticks from that collection from Bloomingdale’s, so I’m set with those, but the amazing bronzer from that collection is almost gone. It was a unique color, more a taupey brown with a slight mauve shimmer. Absolutely perfect for my fair, slightly cool toned skin. I’ve never been able to find a dupe, so I was hoping that the bronzers in his own line might mimic the one I am almost done with. Terra seems too orange, so that would leave gold dust. I hope you swatch it. In the pics above you face, the one on the right look pinkier, is that Terra or Gold Dust? Thanks

I like the way Gold dust looks on you!
I think it would look nice on me too.
This will be my year when I buy all the Tom Ford and wear all the glitter, shimmers!

I’m really having a hard time choosing the right bronzer fore if il get the terra or the gold dust or the Charlotte Tilburry film star. I’m Chinese with white skin NC 15-20. Which can you recommend? Hope you can help me.
