Round-up: Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick Overview & Thoughts
Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is a fun, shimmer-filled formula that feels like a true lipgloss-lipstick hybrid, but it’s a significant departure from the original Melted formula. The Melted Metals have more slip and less pigmentation (though the majority are fairly pigmented) with much shorter-wear time (three to four hours, whereas the original range trended towards six to eight hours). Something I noticed was that “long-wear” was completely removed for this formula; on the original, it’s on the tube, name, and descriptions, but this one is careful to make no mention of longevity. These could be more of a true metallic in finish, as they’re more pearly, frosted, and/or glossy, though they’re more comfortable than many metallic formulas.

These look gorgeous! I’m really looking forward to get Macaron and Jelly 🙂
Enjoy ’em, Gabrielle!
Yeah..another fabulous round-up. I broke down and ordered Debutante, Jelly, and Macaroon to get free shipping for the $11 Anastasia brow gel at Ulta, lol. These are just so pretty! Thanks for reviewing them. I wish they were a little more emollient. But, oh well. I still love ’em. 🙂
No problem, Nicole! 🙂
Jelly and Violet are calling me! Will be picking up during Sephora sale
Yay!
I think I’ll skip these. Still not 100% sure. I adore the original formula but I find that I don’t reach for it all that often….
I totally understand that, Kimmy! Hope you can see ’em in stores sometime.
I prefer the ones without shimmer. Great roundup though.
Good thing there are lots of those to choose from!
One of these pretty motherhuggers is getting on my face. The question is, which one?….
Haha! Motherhuggers… 😉
Since they’re more emollient and less pigmented, I might actually be able to wear these. I may see if Sephora is willing to make a sample for me. I love the look of Macaron, and I also loved Tu-Tu that you modeled for us 🙂
Fingers crossed Sephora will do that!
Jelly and Macaron are on my wish list now!
Awesome picks, Erin!
Jelly, Debutante and Macaron are tugging at my rapidly diminishing willpower….and Macaron has me hearing “Macarana’ playing in my head, lol! But seriously, those 3 are gorgeous.
LOL! That would be something – if you twisted open the cap and it started playing that!
It would!
I think I may need pick a couple of these up, as I adored the swatches, but after MAC Cinderella I put myself on a spending ban until my birthday in June, so they’ll have to wait. Must exercise patience!
You can do it, Sarah!
I bought Jelly, which is GORGEOUS and I am in love with it.
I also caved and ordered Debutante with a 20% coupon. Waiting for it to arrive!!
Nice!! 🙂 Can’t wait for you to get Debutante!
Jelly is the one I want. Possibly Debutante also, as I don’t think I have anything quite like it.
Debutante is really unique!
I picked up Jelly to get free shipping with my Too Faced primer purchase from the 21 days promo. Loving it so far. It was a blind buy as I hadn’t seen good non-promo swatches yet. I was hoping you’d post your reviews soon as I’d noticed that noticed the pigmentation wasn’t as strong and the wear wasn’t as long and was curious if that was the case for the other colors as well. Decided to check back with you today and… ta da! You’ve reviewed all the thingz! I’m still loving Jelly despite having to reapply more thickly and more often. I think Macaron needs to be my next purchase!
Happy to hear you’re digging it so far, Erin!
