MAC Carmine Rouge & Ultramarine Pink Lipglasses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
MAC Carmine Rouge Lipglass
MAC Carmine Rouge Lipglass ($30.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “clean true red.” It’s a brightened, neutral red with a creamy, glossy finish. It seems to almost look warm on me, which is often how neutral reds look on my coloring, so it may appear more neutral or even subtly cool-toned depending on your undertones. It had mostly opaque color coverage with a fairly smooth, even application. The texture is slightly thick, tacky, but holds on well and lasts for five hours. It was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Ruby Woo (LE, $15.00) is cooler-toned. NARS Burning Love (LE, $26.00) is darker. Guerlain Rouge Parade (920) (LE, $30.00) is darker. Dior Vie d’Enfer (869) (P, $35.00) is warmer. Laura Mercier Poppy (P, $25.00) is warmer, brighter. MAC Viva Glam Rihanna (LE, $15.00) is shimmery, pinker. NARS Norma (P, $26.00) is similar. MAC Send Me Sailing (LE, $15.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Ultramarine Pink Lipglass ($30.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “mid-tone dirty violet.” It’s a bold, brightened magenta plum with cool undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It was mostly opaque and applied verly evenly. The consistency is on the thicker side with a noticeable amount of tackiness. This shade lasted for five hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating over time. NYX Sugar Cookie (P, $5.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Crush (P, $19.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Girl About Town (LE, $15.00) is pinker, shimmery. Illamasqua Belladonna (P, $22.00) is slightly pinker. Buxom Berry Blast (P, $19.00) is lighter, sheerer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I actually like Ultramarine Pink lipglass! Though not enough to pay the extra moolah for cheap packaging…
I hear ya!
Both glosses are quite pretty, but it’s the packaging that’s catching my eye !!
Monica.
The packaging feels extremely cheap – it is very, very light and thin-feeling.
The red almost looks more pink than the pink does!
Haha!
I actually like these better than the lipsticks. Ultramarine pink is really pretty, just not $30 pretty.
Not with that cheap packaging!
These are both really pretty! Wish they were the regular price, I’m not concerned with fancier packaging. Christine, what kind of under eye concealer do you wear?
I rarely wear it, though I have been testing It Cosmetics’ one here and there. I couldn’t tell you if I’m wearing in these photos, as I don’t remember now! I used the lighter eyeshadow in the palette to brighten underneath the lash line for sure.
Hehe, just wait until you have kids 😉 I never needed it before I had kids!
No kids for me, luckily for my under eyes!
Just your fuzzy baby Mellan! <3
I gotta agree with everyone – the packaging is borderline tacky. Ultramarine Pink is lovely, but the packaging + price are far too much of a throw off!
I wish they had done more with it!
I’m loving the creamy finish! So pretty! And I agree, that red does look kind of warm on you, and I like it.
Thank you!
Wow, these are amazing! I love both shades.
Do you think you’ll get either?
Both look great but I’ll be passing!
So pricey!
Both are pretty! I really like Carmine Rouge!
They are pretty shades at least!
Carmine Rouge looks a LOT like Strawberry Malt from MAC’s Archie’s Girls collection! I like that it’s such a wearable color, so I reach for that one a lot. A square tube to better fit my draw IS tempting…
You’ll have to keep us posted if you end up with this!
I kinda hate how much I like Ultramarine Pink… DUPES LIST HERE I COME.
Well I’ll be a sucker… I think I have to look into this in person.
It is surprisingly unique (I think it’s the gloss formulation – you might try using a lipstick and putting gloss on top…).
Well it’s SIXTY EIGHT DOLLARS AUSTRALIAN (sorry I had to put that in caps BECAUSE REASONS). Yeah, don’t think I’ll be buying this *kicks wall*
pretty but tacky, i dislike tacky glosses 😀 i guess mac glasses aren’t for me.
sometimes, some glosses are so tacky that they become goopy and move all over the place :-s eek (tho idk if mac’s are that bad lol). I’ll take comfort over durability 😀
Definitely would stay far away from their regular Lipglass for sure! They have a very “old school” feel to me – thick AND tacky.
