NARS Almeria Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Almeria Blush
NARS Almeria Blush

NARS Almeria Blush ($30.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “tan rose.” It’s a muted, medium-dark reddened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. There’s a hint ofvery fine shimmer, but on the skin, it isn’t noticeable. Gucci Beauty Cherry Nectar (P, $49.00) is brighter, warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Contour (Softcore) (LE, $55.00) is lighter. NARS Realm of the Senses #2 (LE, $29.00) is more shimmery. NARS 413 BLKR (LE, $39.00) is a cream producct. NARS Seduction (P, $29.00) is darker. NARS Oasis (P, $29.00) is lighter, more shimmery. NARS Lovejoy (P, $29.00) is warmer, more shimmery. NARS Dolce Vita (P, $29.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Hidden Treasure (LE, $21.00) is slightly warmer, m ore shimmery. Illamasqua Allure (P, $26.00) is lighter, more muted. See comparison swatches/ view dupes.

The texture was soft, silky, and very finely-milled, so it looked nice against the skin–not powdery or dry–and blended easily, which is a real must with a deeper, richer shade like this one. It had good color payoff, which could be a little buildable if you used a very light touch, but it didn’t feel like the lightest touch still yielded a ton of product. I was surprised by how many blushes NARS has that are similar to this–both past and present–so you may find that your stash already has something similar enough that this wouldn’t be a must-have. On my cheeks, the color wore well for eight and a half hours before fading.

This blush is part of NARS’ holiday color collection, which will be available online on October 15th and at retailers on November 1st.

I love this color. I’ve got TF softcore which is gorgeous but if that’s lighter than this bad boy… i need this too. Will have to play with this one in store. Any idea how close this is to MAC’s Plum de Bois?

Oh I Liiiiiiiike this! 🙂 Totally my kind of blush. Hopefully my local Sephora will have it long enough for me to check it out. (nars shipping to canada is $17, a bit much)

I resisted NARS for a while because honestly I can’t get down with the “hyped-up” brands and I don’t get all the Orgasm and Laguna fuss. I have to say I’m glad I got over myself because I’ve found some real gems in this line. His lip products (Belize lip gloss, Rikugien, Never Say Never and Frivolous lip pencils and hello Cruising, Damage and Dolce Vita!) are some of my favorites and I’m a die hard fan of Lovejoy blush. This one looks gorgeous, I love any blush that has some kind of tan undertone to it. Thanks for the post Christine!

Hi! Do you know how this compared with the nars mounia blush that was discontinued? I loved that blush and I can’t find a real dupe for it….

I know that Dolce Vita is cooler toned, but on me it goes pretty neutral; so this is a pass for me. Dolce Vita is my holy grail blush which is probably odd since I’m mostly neutral (with pink undertones in the summer) and go between N20-N30. It just gives me the perfect flushed look with the most natural finish I’ve ever found.
Now if they had re-released New Attitude in this LE packaging I would have jumped on it. Oh well; at least my wallet will be happy!

Right? I love to use it as a contour blush then dust a little of the two lighter squares from Givenchy’s It Girl Purple on the top of my cheekbones to add more dimension.

Lots of red in this one, too red and deep for me (NC20). Needs such a light hand in application. Might work best on a medium-deep skintone.
