NARS Almeria Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS Almeria Blush
NARS Almeria Blush ($30.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “tan rose.” It’s a muted, medium-dark reddened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. There’s a hint ofvery fine shimmer, but on the skin, it isn’t noticeable. Gucci Beauty Cherry Nectar (P, $49.00) is brighter, warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Contour (Softcore) (LE, $55.00) is lighter. NARS Realm of the Senses #2 (LE, $29.00) is more shimmery. NARS 413 BLKR (LE, $39.00) is a cream producct. NARS Seduction (P, $29.00) is darker. NARS Oasis (P, $29.00) is lighter, more shimmery. NARS Lovejoy (P, $29.00) is warmer, more shimmery. NARS Dolce Vita (P, $29.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Hidden Treasure (LE, $21.00) is slightly warmer, m ore shimmery. Illamasqua Allure (P, $26.00) is lighter, more muted. See comparison swatches/ view dupes.
The texture was soft, silky, and very finely-milled, so it looked nice against the skin–not powdery or dry–and blended easily, which is a real must with a deeper, richer shade like this one. It had good color payoff, which could be a little buildable if you used a very light touch, but it didn’t feel like the lightest touch still yielded a ton of product. I was surprised by how many blushes NARS has that are similar to this–both past and present–so you may find that your stash already has something similar enough that this wouldn’t be a must-have. On my cheeks, the color wore well for eight and a half hours before fading.
This blush is part of NARS’ holiday color collection, which will be available online on October 15th and at retailers on November 1st.

I really like this blush and I don’t have anything similar in my stash!
That’s awesome!
Can you compare it to Nars Taos or Outlaw blush?
Taos is A LOT warmer and brighter – more orange. Outlaw is a totally different color, as it is cool-toned and pink with a lot more shimmer!
Thanks, Christine! It’s really helpful. I can totally skip it since it’s darker than Taos.
I thought this would look similar to Taos, too! I’m surprised that it’s not.
Christine, how does this compare to MAC Raizin blush.
Sorry, I don’t have that!
I only have two NARS blushes, and I definitely don’t have anything similar to this color yet. It’s beautiful.
Do you think you’ll pick this one up?
I love this color. I’ve got TF softcore which is gorgeous but if that’s lighter than this bad boy… i need this too. Will have to play with this one in store. Any idea how close this is to MAC’s Plum de Bois?
I don’t think I have that… I tried to search the site, but I couldn’t find it.
OMG! I think this blush is so gorgeous. I don’t have a NARS blush in this color so this one is defintely on my to-get list!
Yay! 🙂
Oh I Liiiiiiiike this! 🙂 Totally my kind of blush. Hopefully my local Sephora will have it long enough for me to check it out. (nars shipping to canada is $17, a bit much)
Fingers crossed!
hi is this a dupe for mac’s desert rose?
Sorry, I don’t think I have that!
Beautiful! I’m starting to love and prefer these deeper blush shades.
Me too! 🙂 Well, with some patience, haha!
I’d have to swatch it for me as I’m not sure it would compliment my skin tone.
I could see it potentially being tricky on your skin tone (wearable, though, but may require some patience).
I resisted NARS for a while because honestly I can’t get down with the “hyped-up” brands and I don’t get all the Orgasm and Laguna fuss. I have to say I’m glad I got over myself because I’ve found some real gems in this line. His lip products (Belize lip gloss, Rikugien, Never Say Never and Frivolous lip pencils and hello Cruising, Damage and Dolce Vita!) are some of my favorites and I’m a die hard fan of Lovejoy blush. This one looks gorgeous, I love any blush that has some kind of tan undertone to it. Thanks for the post Christine!
Totally understand 🙂 I’m glad you gave ’em a chance, though! Lovejoy is lovely.
I’m so glad this got a good grade, as I adore the color. Of course, with NARS, lot a lot of mystery that they can do a good blush.
Me too! 🙂 Always nice to see a product perform well.
Hi! Do you know how this compared with the nars mounia blush that was discontinued? I loved that blush and I can’t find a real dupe for it….
Unfortunately, I don’t think I have it! Based on photos, it seems like Mounia is warmer and more shimmery? Lighter perhaps?
I’m so excited this is so close to Cherry Nectar, because I loved that blush but it was just out of my budget. Good to know they have a lot of similar blushes, since this is a holiday item. Love it!
YAYY for cheaper dupes!
Beautiful, but definitely one I’ll have to check out in-person… I *love* the packaging, though!
Hope you like it when you see it for yourself!
Will this be available at sephora? I think I need it.
It should be!
Oh, goodness, help me. I need this blush in my life.
Uh oh! 😀
This is really beautiful! Not like anything I currently own.
Is it a shade you’d wear?
Pretty, is this a limited edition item
Yes!
I know that Dolce Vita is cooler toned, but on me it goes pretty neutral; so this is a pass for me. Dolce Vita is my holy grail blush which is probably odd since I’m mostly neutral (with pink undertones in the summer) and go between N20-N30. It just gives me the perfect flushed look with the most natural finish I’ve ever found.
Now if they had re-released New Attitude in this LE packaging I would have jumped on it. Oh well; at least my wallet will be happy!
Dolce Vita is sooo lovely!!
Right? I love to use it as a contour blush then dust a little of the two lighter squares from Givenchy’s It Girl Purple on the top of my cheekbones to add more dimension.
Very pretty!
Agreed!
Stunning blush! Looks really scary in the pan, but totally perfect for autumn! It’s a unique colour too – I don’t have anything like it!
Do you think you’ll get it, Stephanie?
Love the look of this blush! How do you think this would fare on a NC42 Christine?
Beautiful!! It is a nicely pigmented, deeper shade.
This one looks beautiful on you Christine! I just love the name of this blush, it makes me happy!
Thank you, Karen!
Love this color and it seems like it would look great on darker skintones. I’m not sure if my pale skin could pull it off though.
With a light hand, absolutely 🙂
Lots of red in this one, too red and deep for me (NC20). Needs such a light hand in application. Might work best on a medium-deep skintone.
Yes, fairer complexions will need a light hand for sure. On my medium complexion, I tend to reach most for products with good pigmentation but not “merest touch of your brush produces opaque color” type, as they’re just easier to use.
Hehe, this is pretty much the colour I go all over my face when I’ve done a lot of ballet in a too-hot studio! 😀 I may be a little cooler in blush tone, but this made me smile. It looks nice on you, Christine (what doesn’t? LOL!)
Oh, look at you, naturally flushed 😉
This blush really is beautiful….sigh…I suppose I have to have it then! Lol. It does look similar to MAC Raizin though that one is definitely deeper and browner. 🙂
Enjoy it, Kimmy!
This is pure perfection! I already own 3 of the dupes listed but I don’t think I can resist this lol
LOL!
It looks similar to Tom Ford’s Ravish! I’m going to have to figure out if they’re close since I have Ravish.
I think Ravish is likely warmer!
AlmerÃa is my hometown!!! Southern Spain! 🙂 the blush is also cute!
Yayyyy!
Hi Christine, Is this blush’s color similar to Mac Sea Me Hear Me Extra Dimension blush from the recent Alluring Aquatic collection?
This is less shimmery and less warm-toned!
Hi Christine 🙂 I like both this the way this & the Tom Ford look, could you tell me which one you find has a better texture on the skin?
I like Tom Ford’s a little better!
This color is so beautiful, but I already have seduction so I’m going to force myself to walk away haha
Do you think someone with fair skin would still be able to pull this off? I’m mixed ethnicity so have some yellow undertones
Yes!
