Urban Decay Gunmetal Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($19.00 for 0.25 fl. oz.) is described as a “black with black and silver sparkle.” It’s a mix of black and silver glitter suspended on a clear base. Tarina Tarantino Black Diamond (P, $16.00) has more black in it. NARS 47th Street (LE, $24.00) is a pencil eyeliner with a black base. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner formula is described as a “water-based, buildable formula [that] contains super-fine glitter in a clear base that dries down quickly and stays put.” It had decent color coverage, though it was buildable to semi-opaque coverage — anything more and it was three or four layers and started to actually feel heavy on the skin. The consistency is thin and watery, and it’s best applied in short strokes, which maximizes the payoff but also ensures more even distribution of the glitter. The majority of the glittery bits stayed in place over an eight-hour period, though there were a few stray ones here and there.

This looks AMAZING on your lower lash line, Christine! My mind is kind of blown! Now I’m inspired to pull out some of my glitter liners and experiment a bit. Seems like a look that’s a bit avant-garde but still fresh for summer!!

This looks amazing. I remember the glitter liners fondly from when I first started collecting make up many moons ago. Thank you for another amazing review.

Long time since I had a glitter liner. Might try one, but I hope to find something a bet cheaper as I wound’t use it as an everday, maybe not even every week thing.
Loved on the lower lid. Very pretty look, and still a bit edgy.

I thought this would be the one thing I wouldn’t be even remotely tempted by, but it actually looks really interesting and I love how it works in your look! Damn, I really don’t want to spend that much for a bit of glitter….
