What’s Swatch Saturday? I can’t always review products with full, in-depth reviews, but sometimes, I can at least give you photos and swatches, and then also provide a link to dupes and comparisons for those interested! This also helps us to build up our Swatch Gallery and add even more entries to The Dupe List, which can be helpful to readers at any point.

These are not the kind of shades I’d spontaneously reach for, though I have to say Jest and Naked Lunch look lovely.
They’re nice shades for brightening!
I wish they’d bring back Tete-a-tint (I don’t think it was discontinued too long ago either) because I’m afraid I’ll hit pan on Salted Caramel and it’s such a beautiful color
Me too! It’s a more unique shade, too. No idea why they got rid of it.
I was hoping Bamboo would be fairly close but you’re right, Tete-a-tint is too unique.
It will forever be a mystery why MAC discontinues certain shades (without some sort of replacement).
I never really pay attention to MAC eyeshadows but I want all of these lol. They’re so pretty!
They are! 🙂
I love peach eyeshadow. It’s a nice, subtle wash of color for a “no makeup” or “my lids but better” look for us brown girls. I wish they’d bring back Tete-a-tint too. Fortunately I have some of the dupes like Mac’s Body Conscious e/s. I wear it quite often as a overall lid color. I use Bamboo and Arena as my work week highlighters. Layin Low is one of my fav cream bases. Some of my favorite peach looks are Mac’s Format blush as an eyeshadow for a very dark peachy look or Mac’s Melon pigment. Instant mood enhancers!
I never thought about using Format as an eyeshadow, but that is a great idea, Erica! Thank you for sharing 🙂
It’s funny – when I first really got into makeup, the SA’s at MAC would try to put Naked Lunch on me and I would always decline because (a) it was frosty and I thought I hated frost, and (b) it was a weird colour to wear on your eyes. Then I tried it and it’s been a favourite eyeshadow of mine for 5 or more years now!
What made you finally try it, Mariella? Obviously, super happy that you ended up trying it since it’s a long-time favorite. Have you gone through multiple pans?
I’m pretty sure I’m one of the few makeup b/vloggers that have never tried Naked Lunch. [dodges makeup brushes]
It’s not a shade I’ve used much myself!
I love peach shadows, but they do not love me back. I can wear the shades that are frostier, which co-incidentally look less orange based. I have Jest and Naked Lunch, but not Say Yeah which looks very wearable, but I’m too late to that party. The others.. well..I bought tete a tint only to give it away.
I wish MAC would repromote Say Yeah! I don’t know why it’s been so long…
Christine,
Thank-You SO much for creating the swatch gallery!!! You have no idea how many times (in a day) i pop onto your site to reference shades. Everytime a new collection is about to launch (mainly MAC) i’m HERE. It is such a huge help and money saver.
Thanks again
Angie Sutherland
Happy to hear you love the Swatch Gallery, Angie! 🙂 It is my personally most-used feature of our site, so it thrills me that someone else enjoys it as much as I do!
Thank you!
I think Say Yeah is my favourite of these 😛 I really love these posts – it’s a great way for me to see more of the supposedly amazing MAC eyeshadow lineup, and I even love seeing the discontinued ones. Colours are fun. 🙂
I miss it so much 🙁
Jest is so shimmery. Not a big Mac eyeshadow one, but that would look really nice paired with nars orgasm blush.
I could see that combo working!
I have arena my first eye-shadow! i looks the looks of jest but I’m sure i must have a dupe!
Awwwww!!
Pretty colors. Hadn’t seen Tete a Tete, and wish it wasn’t discontinued. Probably my fave of all but all a great color family. Thx for the swatches!
They did it very quietly! 🙁
I love this colors! My favourtes eyeshadows are Arena, Jest, Naked Lunch and Say Yeah because I think this color is bettere if it shines!
Happy you liked ’em, Tuli!
It’s funny, I have Jest and it looks much less pink and more pale in my palette. I love it though, it’s one of my stocks.
How do you like to wear it, Michal?
I usually put it in my inner corners and I like to combine it with shades such as woodwinked, silver ring, shale or even satin taupe.
Love them as well! I consider these “beiges,” whether more warm or cool, bright, muted, reflects or whatnot. I’m sure you can guess the ones I have! Ha ha! 😀 Oh, Christine? Unfortunately, ready put together white palettes are rare, but there are LOVELY shades out there to create your own palette with! Is it just me, or do the extra dimension eye shadows seem smaller as of late? <3 xo
That’s what I was thinking, because I didn’t know any off-hand, past or present.
They started off with mega-sized Extra Dimensions (like CCBs) but then went smaller (regular eyeshadow-sized). They’re not much cheaper, even though they’re about half the size, though.
I keep picking Naked Lunch up almsot every time I visit a MAC counter, but decide against it as it’s a frost, and I imagine I don’t like frost finishes. I really think I must give it a good swatch next time. It looks lovely.
With a fluffy brush, you can definitely get a subtler finish out of it!
