Makeup Geek Infatuation Blush
Makeup Geek Infatuation Blush ($9.99 for 0.15 oz. pan; $12.99 for 0.15 oz. compact) is described as a “medium matte terracotta.” It’s a medium brown with warm, red-orange undertones and a satin-matte finish. Chanel Canaille (89) (LE, $43.00) is more shimmery, darker. Kevyn Aucoin Natura (P) is lighter, less orange. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is more orange. MAC Harmony (P, $21.00) is browner, more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It could be used as a traditional blush or as a bronzer, depending on your needs. It’s quite pigmented with true-to-pan color payoff that is intense applied, but luckily, it blends out nicely, so if you over-apply, it is easy to correct and soften the color. The undertones are very warm, so I think it is a bit too orange-red to work well as an ideal contour. I hope that Makeup Geek adds a few contouring shades to their range–more rosy beiges, neutral taupes and the like. The texture was soft, silky, and smooth and never emphasized the pores; it actually seemed to smooth out the look of the skin ever-so-slightly. When I wore this for wear, the color stayed vibrant for eight hours and then looked a touch faded by the ninth hour.

such a pretty color!
Agreed!
Christine, Do you think this blush will go well on medium complexion ? This is quite a different shade and I wanna go for it but only if it will suit on my skin tone.
I think it could work! For reference, I am medium with warm tones!
I honestly squee when I see you have reviewed a Makeup Geek product! This looks amazing but I wish it were a contour shade like you mentioned. Out of the blushes I have tried, Bliss is my fave. Have you checked out the new eyeshadows yet? I’m currently obsessed with Rockstar and Barcelona Beach.
It would have been nice if it had! I have tried the new eyeshadows!
I thought about ordering this one but now, not so sure. Yes, I agree, I would love for them to make a neutral taupe/grey shade with no orangey tones. I would use it for contouring. I am having a hard time finding something I described. Most contours/bronzers/blush are too orange and oxidize. If anyone has any suggestions for one, I’d love to hear it. Thanks. Sorry if this is off topic.
NYX Cosmetics Powder Blush in Taupe. It is the perfect contour shade!
This looks lovely on you Christine! 🙂 Do you think its similar to MAC Coppertone? I have feeling its a bit like that?
I don’t think I actually have Coppertone!
Ha ha! oh yes you do! a simple google search gave me this! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-coppertone-blush-review-photos-swatches
I honestly didn’t recognize the name as something I owned (I am missing a lot of MAC’s permanent blushes), so I’m really sorry I couldn’t remember! Sometimes I wonder where my brain goes – I am so stupid!
Hey Christine! With a zillion products to get through and review its only natural you’d forget about some thing! Yus have no reason to be sorry! 😀 and you are FAR from stupid! 😀
You’re really too kind! It was a really serious error on my part – and quite unforgivable, so I’ll be making sure to triple check in the future so I don’t botch it like that again! Thank you!
LOL! 😛
This was a colour that I was most excited by as being touted as a contour and blush colour! I think the warm/orange undertone would really work well on warmer skintones!
It could!
I could not agree more on hoping that MUG comes out with a few contour shades! With the success of so many contour specific products we know there’s a market for it. Plus with the success and quality of these blushes we know it’d be a good product and hopefully be several color options to suit a wide range of skin tones.
Fingers crossed that they add more!
This blush looks very pretty! I love these kind of colors!
Yay! 🙂
This colors is one of my fav. I used it as contour and it looks so natural on me 😉
Glad you like it! 🙂
I have yet to buy anything Makeup Geek, because I can’t help but wanting to buy everything at once! I can’t decide what to get first! Everything seems to be so wonderful. I’m so happy to see a line that offers great overall quality products at affordable prices. I hope it never changes.Marlena is an inspiration! If only there were ever a Temptalia brand… I know you’ve expressed in the past it’s not something you see yourself doing, but one can dream! 😀
LOL! It is hard to resist adding so many things to your cart!
Seriously! Everytime I go on their website, I end up with like $350 worth of products and I don’t have that kid of disposable income right now!
I am kiiiind of one the fence about this one.
What’s holding you back?
Christine, how do you think this compares to Nars Madly? I didn’t get it as I was on a three blush maximum when I placed my order, but it looks beautiful on you.
Madly is more shimmery, browner – less orange/warmth in it!
I almost almost picked this one up. Good call that I didn’t. I’m more included to shades a bit more neutral than this for blush and contour like Harmony which I have. I originally thought this would be a hotter redder orange, and more of a blush tone and less of a contour. This one is just not for me.
I look at it as more of a bronzer than blush or contour after trying it!
These are nice blushes
They are!
Hi Christine! Do u know if this is similar to macs prim n proper blush? If not, do u know whats similar? Thanks!
It’s not at all like it! That shade is harder to dupe because of the plumminess of the color. http://www.temptalia.com/swatch-gallery?sg=167533,165150,140883,140481,125386,111345,111337,97377
The blush is much too orange for me (not it’s fault, LOL!), but your lips are looking fab!
Also: IWANTYOUREARRINGSALLOFTHEM. NOW. 😛
LOL!
Thank you 😀
Too warm for me but I love it on warm skin.
I can definitely see it being too warm for some!
Hmmm….. it kinda looks like Mac Coppertone….
Yep….. here’s the link to your Coppertone review….. it looks a lot alike.

Coppertone is darker and more red-toned!
Different question………………. what blush is on the other side? Momma like!!!
I think it’s Rendezvous, but I’m not certain.
