Makeup Geek Infatuation Blush ($9.99 for 0.15 oz. pan; $12.99 for 0.15 oz. compact) is described as a “medium matte terracotta.” It’s a medium brown with warm, red-orange undertones and a satin-matte finish. Chanel Canaille (89) (LE, $43.00) is more shimmery, darker. Kevyn Aucoin Natura (P) is lighter, less orange. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is more orange. MAC Harmony (P, $21.00) is browner, more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It could be used as a traditional blush or as a bronzer, depending on your needs. It’s quite pigmented with true-to-pan color payoff that is intense applied, but luckily, it blends out nicely, so if you over-apply, it is easy to correct and soften the color. The undertones are very warm, so I think it is a bit too orange-red to work well as an ideal contour. I hope that Makeup Geek adds a few contouring shades to their range–more rosy beiges, neutral taupes and the like. The texture was soft, silky, and smooth and never emphasized the pores; it actually seemed to smooth out the look of the skin ever-so-slightly. When I wore this for wear, the color stayed vibrant for eight hours and then looked a touch faded by the ninth hour.

I honestly squee when I see you have reviewed a Makeup Geek product! This looks amazing but I wish it were a contour shade like you mentioned. Out of the blushes I have tried, Bliss is my fave. Have you checked out the new eyeshadows yet? I’m currently obsessed with Rockstar and Barcelona Beach.

I thought about ordering this one but now, not so sure. Yes, I agree, I would love for them to make a neutral taupe/grey shade with no orangey tones. I would use it for contouring. I am having a hard time finding something I described. Most contours/bronzers/blush are too orange and oxidize. If anyone has any suggestions for one, I’d love to hear it. Thanks. Sorry if this is off topic.

I could not agree more on hoping that MUG comes out with a few contour shades! With the success of so many contour specific products we know there’s a market for it. Plus with the success and quality of these blushes we know it’d be a good product and hopefully be several color options to suit a wide range of skin tones.

I have yet to buy anything Makeup Geek, because I can’t help but wanting to buy everything at once! I can’t decide what to get first! Everything seems to be so wonderful. I’m so happy to see a line that offers great overall quality products at affordable prices. I hope it never changes.Marlena is an inspiration! If only there were ever a Temptalia brand… I know you’ve expressed in the past it’s not something you see yourself doing, but one can dream! 😀
